Ready for the F22b DOHC swap...

Hi, this Wensday or thursday my new motor is coming in.This is my first ever engine swap.I have taken an engine out of a ford before but never put it back(we parted it out).I have a descent amount of mechanical experince, like replacing rear drum brakes, front discs, valve adjustment, side motor mount replacement,cv joint replacement, regular oil changes etc., but ofcourse nothing close to something like this.Basicly i made this thread to get advice from people that have done the swap, maybe some of the problems you ran into, tools you needed, etc.

So far i have taken care of:

    F22B DOHC-in the mail ofcourse
XTD stage one clutch and 12lb flywheel-in the mail
Chipped p06 by MRX-should be shipped soon
Energy susp. motor mounts-in the mail
Husky 50-250lbs 1/4" drive torque wrench-in my possesion
    Engine hoist-in my possesion
    Engine stand-in my possesion
Two commercial size wd-40 cans -in my possesion

Things to get tommorow or tuesday from advance auto parts:

    1995 odysay 2.2 waterpump
    h23 timing belt
    h23 valvecover gasket
Accord DX alternator belt(non A/C,I'll b rippin mine out)
    new spark wires and plugs
driver side axle(boot is busted and grease sprayed everywhere)
    red paint for VC
Vaccum line to hook the IAB's
30amp fuse to take care of the exhisting external coil fuse
1/4" to 3/8" socket for my torque wrench
Axle nut socket-35mm?someone shed some light plz

    Anything I'm missing?

Thanks and please share your experiances

    P.S.-This is going in a 93 EX-if it matters...

gonna need basic tools too.. you know.. wrenches, ratchet and sockets.. extensions.. hammer.. breaker bar.. jackstands.. jacks.. masking tape.. extra hands [anything more than one more guy is over the limit.. at least for me.. people get in your way]

uhm.. and just to be safe check the rear main seal, throw out bearing, clutch alignment tool, replace your gaskets [intake, exhaust, valve cover, head] etc.. remember that having your motor out is the best time to replace things because its the easiest.... its more money now.. but less hassle later.

I had completely forgotten about that, i knew i had to get it but i already went to advance auto.Thats ok,i still have to go back for the axle nut anyways.I don't get why i have to pull the control arm joint though?its in the manual but i don't see how it gets in the way of the engine?

Damn, i cant wait.I hope to break 15's with this setup.15.99 and i'd be happy

cool man dont listen to me...i only did a full rebuild on my motor....and btw if ur gonna run my map, you should get it tuned, no ifs ands or buts. if u dont u may not get optimum numbers or efficiency. my vac map undergoes constant changes. you got yesterdays version. also just fyi that map was made with a turbo on....u really should get a burner and a wb o2 sensor. im sure antoine already told u this tho

i'm sorry if i sounded like a dick, i didn't mean too. It's just that i i saw the h23 belt been done and i thought wth, you know...As for the ecu mrx didnt tell me anything about a turbo map...Yeah he told to get it it tuned but i don't think i will for a while. Is it safer to run my pt6 till then?I dont know he told me about a map for the f22b/h23 that might be better than the stock one.If its a turbo map id ve running pig rich and the car wouldnt run right?
