how much did you guys spend on replacing things after you did an H22 swap....I read somewhere that you have to replace the crank sensor and I personaly would replace most of the hoses on the motor when I got it but I was wondering if anyone hit any "sneak up on ya" costs like new axles after the first month or so...things like that....

when i did my friends h22 swap (coco his s/n) we replaced timing belt, water pump, balancer belt, spark plugs and wires, all hoses, and new alxes. it came out to $450. that price is cheaper to cuz i have connections in parts store and oem honda parts. then like a week after the swap he put new rotors n pads in the front. dont remember how much that was.

Thats about the right price.. guess i also got the hookup... at autozone. I would suggest doing most of the stuff before you put it in, timing belt, all the little annoying hoses, seals. Of course, get the stuff like tming belt and water pump from www.hondaautomotiveparts.com (cheaper/better) and the regular stuff you can get at autozone, spark plugs, wires, axles. I would also make sure to clean out the oil pickup, get a gasket for that, make sure the front balance shaft has the seal retainer, and if you are feeling up for it, do the crankshaft and balance shaft seals. It'll be a pain, but much less than when its in the car.
