    H23 Swap DIY?

Is there a H23 swap DIY out there anywhere? Or any pages about it?

Also when swapping the H23 into a 93 Accord, is there anything that has to be moved/changed? And would the be any problems to expect or anything on the downside? And do all the stock f22a engine components bolt up to the H23? Thanks!

Sorry if it is in another thread, I searched a few times and could not locate this info.

Good to see someone from Pa,

I Have done the H23 swap myself... It's the SAME steps as the H22 swap, except you're gonna leave out the VTEC stuff. If you're not too sure about this don't do it on your own.

Where in Pa? I'm near Philly

any questions?? Hit me up on AIM = XxJBazarnikxX or leave me a message

O yeah sorry for being so quick..

I haven't looked around on the site for Swap info, but theres PLENTY on other web boards and sites......I'm gonna leave this one for you to do, trust me its a good thing.

and as far as the downsides and modifications : Theres modding to the driver's side mount, cutting and switching of some plugs and wires, switching the pins on the ECU, and some ingnition wire switching, that should be it.

and for the f22 and H23 parts: yes some are interchangable as the internals such as the crank, rods, pistons, rings. and SOMETIMES the headers.

I hope I gave you good answers....again, if you need any other help you know what to do.

      PEACE

thanks very much, i appreciate it

Im from central PA, Northumberland county...

My buddies dad has been a mechanic 35+ years and said this summer he would help me do the swap. We're gonna hit up Harry's You Pull it in Hazelton see if we can find a h23a, or some local places as well.. I was wondering exactly what parts I would need to get it to work, as it is my daily driver and want to make a weekend project out of it.

so if you do know any items i should pick up let me know, thanks!

        my aim is: c11x

I don't care how long his dad been a mechanic for.....I did mine at my uncles auto shop , I myself worked on cars and went to school for 6 years.....took us a week. this is NO weekend project.

Harry's U-pull it : theres one in Pennsburg....15 mins from me. I have a hard time finding Preludes there...if you happen to find some up near you ..LET ME KNOW.

Stuff you'll need: I'm not sure what you got so far.

Well installing the H23 was the same as any engine, but getting everything to work right is the hard part.

keeping the A/C , P/S I had to swap stuff out of the 97+ prelude to make it all work in the '94 Accord Ex platform.

right now I'm having problems making it run right. you should keep an eye on that thread I started for yourself when you run into a problem.

I'm not too sure what ezactly you will need, but def. less then I had to use in my 5th gen. Look up some info, the more you collect....the better your project will come out. GOOD LUCK

I c you're fixing up the H23, I have done a full rebuild to my 2nd H23 using all OEM internals, bearings, gaskets and all.

I noticed a big difference from a H23 with miles to a fully rebuilt H23. you should be happy.

as far as doing the swap yourself , you should get a helping hand. GOOD LUCK! and let us know how it goes.

                      PICS PLEASE!

it can be done on a weekend.. you just have to be smart. and have two people. maybe its just cause me and my dad pull motors all the time... mine coulda been done in one day but i had to wait for the urathane to dry in the mounts.
