You think smashing a sensor in a CB7 is bad, try dropping the H22A into a CB5 from the top, now that's a firewall side tight @ss fit! Had to yank the plenum just to get it to fit! Oh, just to stay on topic, I got f*cked up the @ss on the motor I got (smashed sensors and such that were not warrantied) and I paid $2500 for the motor. I spent an additional $800 in parts doing an M/T conversion, ditching A/C & ABS, and buying parts. It can be done for $4000 or less by yourself, even if you need to buy hand tools. Short of a $500 cherry picker, you should need no more than $4K to do it yourself. If it costs you more, you got raped on your motor.

Okay i can get you the engine from hmotors online you have to get in contact with me first well do the deal and then well talk to steve we can rent a cherry picker from my boy up the block for like 3 days its only 100 well be done before then i charge 450 to take the old motor out and put the new one in. Your best bet is to get the motor from hmotors online.com he warrantees your sensors and the engine 30 day startup warrantee.

With these motor importers over here and in nj they are way too expensive I can get the motor shipped here for 2250 i think its cheaper now cause he dropped the price and its 60 to take the shit off the truck that fuckin freight fee the motor is 350lbs. lemme know if your interested.

On the note of swaps, I got quoted for a h22 swap and auto to manny swap for 5600 thats installed running and purrrring, includes the engine sensors tranny ecu tcm and all appropriate wiring. And anyone down for a swap in Colorado?? PM me (wishes he lived in NY)
No more cb7, 7 years of ownership and 196K on the ticker before she was sold

of that $5,600, how much was for the engine, and how much was for the swap? cause that seems kinda steep. if i had done just the basic swap and left everything else stock, it would have cost me about 2 grand less than what you got quoted.

$5600 for a swap and manual conversion? DAMN!
That's WAY too much, man! If you can find a good shop, you should pay $1000 for the swap labor. No shop should charge you more than that if they know exactly what they're getting into. My shop charged me $1750, but that's because they were clueless (and told me AFTER my engine was out of the car...) $1000 is about right for a mechanic who has done it before.

Look at $2400 shipped for the regular H22A swap from www.hmotorsonline.com. That includes everything, even the sensors. Any broken sensors will be replaced for free, cuz Steve rules.

I've been told that the manual transmission conversion usually runs about $800, give or take. Say that gets bumped up to $1000, you're STILL only at $4400 for the whole deal! Add $600 for a good intake and exhaust, and you're at $5000 even.

www.hmotorsonline.com is the way to... I just swapped ne of their motors, and the thing was beautiful. Deevergote is a lil' off on his pricing however. The motor, tranny, and ECU is $1950+S/H, and the complete swap is $2199. It is well worth your money to get the complete swap, that's almost guaranteed to be lower milage because it came out of a wrecked car usually. Shifter bracket, cable, linkage, mounts, and axles. Just to have the spare parts is nice, especially if doing an M/T conversion...
$200-$300 for shipping is to be expected, pending on where you live.

In all honesty, take it from someone who has driven them both, GET THE LSD TRANNY! (M2B4). Unless you have a new Quafe, or Kaza, or whatever other funky named LSD companies there are sitting at your house waiting for the motor to come in, get the stock LSD. It is well worth the $300! The stock LSD is good up to 275 WTQ... Your H22Ax/H22A only dynos (average) 143-152WTQ. A worthwhile investment, I'll state it again. You'll realize how much you need one the first time you rip second, talk about torque steer. So yeah, you're looking at about $2800 for everything from H-motors Online. VERY high quality company, the only complaint I've heard is shipping time takes a while sometimes; worst I've heard is 2 months.

As for parts. If doing the M/T conversion, you'll need the pedals, clutch master cylinder, clutch hardline, dampener and bracket, S hose, and hydraulis clutch line. Everything else will come with your complete swap. You have two options on axles, a hybrid conjoining the Accord outer CV to the Prelude inner CV, or buying an intermediate shaft from for the Accord. Go with the first, I made mine in 20 minutes, and I had never ripped an axle apart before in my life. Use your stock A/T on the passenger side. You'll need the Accord mounts all the way around except the passenger will use the Prelude mount & bracket for the tranny conversion. $100 in parts from the junkyard if even. Hook it up and fly!

If you're paying someone, find someone who's done it before, highest I would pay is $1200 including the M/T conversion. That's a swap for under 5 grand you can be proud of, and you'll learn more than you could guess about your car and your motor, good bonding time with her!

My $2400 figure included shipping ("$2400 shipped")... I live in NJ, so I figured it can't be much more to ship anywhere else than it is across the country!

And I agree fully with the LSD. I wanted it myself, but my F22 transmission was going. I needed to swap when I did, and the wait was like 4 weeks for the LSD. I'm looking into a Phantom Grip for about $250. The stock Honda LSD is much better than that, and only costs you $300 with the swap.

Is the hybrid axle better? I just replaced my stock Accord axles (well, the right one) and I'm trying to figure out if there's something that can take a bit more punishment.
