    K Series Hasport Mounts Inquiry

So yeah.. as part of the plans with my CB, I made an inquiry to HASPORT and want to share it with some of you before you decide on what you want to do with your cars.

In Otherwords, a 6 Speed K24 powered CB7 is coming your way guys

The mounts for both the CB and CD have been prototyped but are not scheduled
for release for another couple of months. We had been waiting for the
development of some products so the TSX and Accord transmissions could also
be used. These products will soon be available, so the mounts will be
scheduled for manufacturing as soon as is possible.

Wow that's pretty nice...hopefully that'll drive down the cost of H22's and open up new avenues for us. I'm kind of confused as to what transmissions he thought we would use with the K24; i.e. did they make mounts for an engine with no transmission? Anyways good stuff...

i think mounts are an easy part of a swap...its the wiring that id be worried about...plus OBD II..hmmm seems daunting to me...but itd still be cool

yea.... obdII would be kinda hard..... plus would it work with the way a k series sits in a car? (i have a friend with a 2k civic with a k20 adn it sits way up front)

Nah I've seen them in EG's and there's room...the IM might come forward a lot but I think the block is about the same. I still think the F and K share tranny mounts though, where did I hear that...

Other than the wiring issues (OBD-II and the multiple input signals), I am really curious how it is going to work out.

But a 6-speed CB would really be interesting....

I would possibly consider taking the h22 out of my 'good' car and putting it in my DX (the F22 in that car is about to get seriously abused anyway!) A K24 would certainly be nice! I wonder what kind of displacement increase would be safe with that motor... 2.6L?

Stop wishing for H22 prices to go down, they won't. I don't think the B series went down when the mounts came out for them.

I'm ready to buy the mount kit as soon as it's released for the 2002-2004 K20A-R engine/tranny. The Only thing keeping me from doing this swap is engine management. Although I'm well versed and and have experiance in tunning hondata's K-Pro I'm not completely happy with it. But maybe within another year (which is when I expect the mounts to be out if ever) the K-Pro K-Manager software will be upgraded and improved.

I think the K series will have a very long run in the tuning community. Honda has thankfully presented us with a great followup to the B and H series!

I agree with you on just about everything Fizzy... Even the old cars and motors The only draw for me with the K series is that it's rumored to respond VERY well to mods (better than any previous engine) and the aftermarket will soon lose the H series and embrace the new stuff.
Well, that, and the stock 2.4L

And why not drop 8 grand into a $2000 car? I've already spent about that much in mods already! I'm not looking for a race car, just something I'm proud of, and something I enjoy driving on the street. Plus, after putting $8000 into my car, I KNOW it's going to do what I want it to do! I could spend twice that on a base RSX and need to modify it to make it better, or I could just drop the money into my cheap CB7 and make it into something unique.

I'll disagree with you on that, in a matter of days when the K-series mounts were released for the civic cassis and even the EF family, the prices for b-16's dropped by hundreds, i repeats hundreds'. One week after the last K-series mounts were put out by hasport for the EF (crx,civic-88-91), HMO dropped their B16a (SiR) first gen, cable tranny by almost $300, and they've continued to go down as more and more civics and crx's even teg's are being powered by the K-series. So the prices WILL go down for the H22, just wait till those precious K-series mounts hit the CB family.

i cant belive fizzbob is saying this....you cant compare these motors, they go in diff cars, completely diff chassis, and DIFFERENT weights, so you cant say H22 is more powerful then b18C, well obviously and it should be, they go in a heavier car, by numbers, YES, the h22 does produce more HP but when u put them both in the same plate and talk about different vehicles its something u cant compare...unless you mean for the same chassis like the DC, yes, the H22 would be way better then the B18's, way more powerful too...but since this was about the CB7's.....u cant do this comparison..

i do see a LOT of this on cb7tuner.com, (not applying to fizzbob) but people talking down on other cars, other hondas, and other motors produced by hondas, even STEVE, (accordtunerx) mentioned this earlier in another thread, but in general its WRONG to compare diff motors maily because CB7's are the bigger Hondas, THUS the need for bigger motors, so obviously in your chasis it wouldnt be practical to drop in a B-16, and yes B16's dont make as much power because they're not meant for this chassis application. No grudge against anyone, but i'm the only one who decides to mention this as i feel many members on this board are biased and very narrow minded when it comes to other models, make, even other hondas. Jus a thought.
