a6 intake mani swap into my a1

just got done doin the swap it took me from 11:00-5:45pm but man there is a big difference i took off the butterflys because when i opened the intake mani there waz only 3 of them on, so the only mod i had to do was extend 1 coolent line to the mani by like less than an inch, and that was it,

let me tell you the car in second gear sounds like a dinosaur under the hood , a big roaring sound comming from my engine, defenitly felt the power when i first drove it all i can say is if u want cheap power do it, the mani only cost me $23 and the gaskets with my advance auto parts discount cost $12

so if u are in a low buget like me and want so power this is the way to go

i am ssoooooo happy with the out come i would do it again ill try to post pic later im kindof tired

Where'd you find it for $23? Kmart's is $210 (although it comes with an ECU...)

i just did on sunday as well...it took me from 6-10 to get it finished...im leaking a tiny bit of coolant somewhere i gotta find out where...also my idle is acting all weird...it jumps up in down when im in park or neutral.

                yes

i took all the butterflys out because i only had three , 1 of them i guess is in the engine i took the mani off of

lx rida- check all the vacume line it was doning the samething to me but i found one of the ports needed to be blocked and the coolant is one of the three hoses u needed to take off in order to do the swap
hope this helps everyone with the this problem

                im so happy

That's awesome! Glad you're happy with the swap, I was lucky enough to have an ex accord already, but I would have done the same if I didn't. You really feel the power in the mid range right? That's where it is for me, and the highs a bit also. I remember reading on this site though, if you completely remove the butterflys you will lose low end power, too much air flow @ once or something to that degree. Did you notice that @ all?

                    na man

that low end torque loss is bull**** even my friend who drove my car before and after the swap said it was like driving a new car so yes i feel the power the most in second gear going into third but i feel alot more power!

i heard when you block off that Super long vacuume line off from the A6 manifold (when using sr or cold air intake) it keeps the buterflys open,

                        anyone know if that's true?

the butterflies are controlled by the vacuum hose attached to the solenoid next to them, that's all

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.
