    '96 H22a1

There has been rumors that '96 USDM SR-V motors only come with OBDII.
Is this true? I was reading on a local prelude forum that a guy in my "neighborhood" has a 1996 H22A1 out of an SR-V with P13 on the head. Others were saying this was not available and must have been converted. Can anyone confirm this information. When it comes to swaps, I am a nooB.

They were just saying that obd1 wasn't available with that motor and you just confirmed that. So maybe it is a '95??? Are any h22a1 obd1?

yes, in the us 93-95 h22a1's are obd1, in the 96 although it was the same body style prelude it became obd2.

You can still convert the obd2 to obd1

So is it still an H22a1 or is an obd2 an H22a4?

grrrr H22A1 came in the 93-96 USDM preludes all of which are obd1 except 1996, when they switched to Obd2. The H22A4 97+ body style preludes in which case all are obd2.

Actually, you can look at the serial number underneath the H22A1 on the block. The first digit signifies the year of the motor. I have a 93 H22A1, so the first digit of the serial # is a 1. 2 would be 94, 3 would be 95 and so on. So that way you can tell if it is really a 96 motor (or did they go to the H22A4 in 96?).
