I will confirm my research tomorrow but it's looking like the 5th ratios/gears below are also in most f22b Accords from 94-97. These are the ones that look like they will be direct swaps in to h23 m2s4 trannys. No modifications needed.

    23461-PX5-A41 COUNTERSHAFT FIFTH
    23581-PX5-A41 MAINSHAFT FIFTH

Well, it appears that I'm going to end up making a long list of direct swap 5th ratios/gears for the h23 m2s4 tranny.

Hopefully I'll be able to do the same for the h22 trannys.

It seems every tranny with the 5th ratio/gear of 0.685 in the link below has the same part#

The gears finally arrived today . I'll install the gears and put the tranny back together again this weekend. As before I'll measure the new gears and record the reassembly. Finally the h23 tranny, new CC clutch and CC flywheel will go in the car the following weekend.

I may not end up recording the tranny R&R and only record the clutch and flywheel install. It all depends if next weekend I have both days to work on the car. I have a few other things to address while the tranny is out of the way which I never planned to record. And recording while you work on your car can eat up a lot of time.

Again, If there's anything any of you think I should add to this thread please let me know and I will do my best to get it done.

        Started really late today.

The MS and CS are assembled and ready to go back in to the tranny. But, I forgot the camera charger at work and it just died. I really wanted to record everything I did, but I want to get this done today.

I'm eating dinner now and will decide afterwards if I'm going to wait until tomorrow to finish.

UPDATE: 10/06/13 - Bad news, I went to work this morning and I couldn't find the charger to my camcorder. So I'm going finish up assembly today and take a few pics with my phone. At a later date I'll record the reassembly of my donor tranny.

Here are the measurements for the new gears. They're a direct replacement for the M2S4.

        23461-PX5-A41 COUNTERSHAFT FIFTH
        23581-PX5-A41 MAINSHAFT FIFTH

        Measurement MS CS
        1 -----------15.8, 15.91
        2 -----------31.3, 22.9
        3 -----------92.2, 65.1
        4 -----------42.87, 27.88
        5 -----------42.88, 27.89
        6 -----------0, 18.4
        7 -----------0, 2.49
        8 -----------31.49, 18.4
        9 -----------15.72, 4.5
        teeth -------35, 24

The M2S4 has been assembled and is good to go . All gears shift well on the bench. I will install the tranny with the CC clutch and CC flywheel next weekend.

As I mentioned before I couldn't find the charger to my camcorder. So I took a few pics with my phone. At a later date I'll record the reassembly of my donor tranny. I did manage to record a few things before it died. So I will upload those on Monday.

I ordered a new stopper ring because the M2S4 has two holes while the H2A5 only has the one.

Measurements table has been updated on first page (Also see below)

A new video has been added on the first page (Also see below). The camcorder battery dies just as I was putting the cover on. FYI the first 7 mins I'm just prepping the mating surfaces (boring). Also YouTube is giving me shit (copyright) about the music playing on the radio in the background. So YouTube drops the sound a bunch of times. At the end of the video I had trouble seating the tranny cover and then the video ends. Turns out it was the shift forks weren't sliding in to their corresponding hole in the cover. Using the wooden handle of a small hammer I nudge them in to place through the Shift Arm Assembly opening on the side of the housing.

Installing everything this Saturday. Wish me luck.

Last night I went to my garage to check a few things over...

Is the LSD movement in the video below normal? I imagine this slight movement is normal. But, I now regret not measuring the old/new diff and old/new bearings. I just took for granted that everything measured up. I guess I can just reassemble the donor tranny to see if it has similar movement. yeah I'll try that Saturday morning before I continue with the install. Unless someone on here who knows, can confirm that it's normal.

I just tried to do the same thing w/ my M2B4, cannot get it to budge at all, not even slightly. Good luck!

                        Thank you for responding.

I checked my donor tranny and it has the same movement. I found a couple other sites late last night that hint it being normal. So rolling the dice and going forward. I'll check the tranny in the car when I get it out. Worst case scenario I'll only install the clutch and flywheel which really need to be changed out.

I decided to not record the Tranny removal. There's already a video of the removal on a prelude. And it's pretty much the same.

Check out what I'm missing, noticed it when I started removing things from underneath the car. I have no idea how long its been missing.

Yeah I know what you're talking about. You sure your car had one? I've never seen them on any USDM CBs but I do know they came on the JDM H22s, which fit on the F22 motor w/ auto or manual.

You're right, sir. There shouldn't be any movement like in the video.

The transmission, clutch and flywheel came out about 2 hours ago and I then took a break. During the break the diff movement, just made me uncomfortable. So I decided not to take the risk and really investigate the diff movement. Which meant I had to re-open the tranny and after sometime I found the reason. A thrust shim was missing (see pic) between the housing and the bearing race. The sons of bitches that rebuilt the tranny left this out as well.

Fuck! First the stopper ring and now this.
