My Auto to 5 Speed Swap

    So far I have

    Transmission H2A5
    Slave cylinder -Replacing with TAS
-- long main line from master cylinder to dampener
-- rubber line from dampener to adapter on transmission
-- adapter and bolt to hold to transmission
-- line from adapter to slave cylinder
-- bolt that holds rubber line to adapter(banjo-bolt)
    Starter for manual tranny
    intermediate shaft
    Transmission mount and bracket
    Rear motor mount(at firewall)
Speedometer sensor (salvage yard may leave it on the tranny)
Shifter cables, holding clips, clevis pins and cotter pins
Shifter cable bracket for tranny (salvage yard may leave it on the tranny)
    Shifter assembly
    Clutch assembly -Exedy/Fidanza

    I still need
    Clutch master cylinder -TAS
-- long main line from master cylinder to dampener -Junkyard
    Drivers side CV shaft -TAS
    Passenger Mount -ESP
Shifter boot assembly and shift knob -TAS
    Clutch pedal assembly -Junkyard
Both switches for clutch and their plug-in connectors -Junkyard
Brake and gas pedal assembly -Junkyard
    30 Amp Relay
    Manual ECU

My first concern is I haven't been too impressed with parts from TAS. Namely the brake pads with the "big brake kit" are crap, the upper control arms didn't fit my Ingalls camber kit without modification, and the hardware they supply doesn't match OE hardware and is under quality. With that being said, anybody buy the slave/clutch master from TAS? It's $45 compared to $175. I'm willing to pay if it's that much more worth it.

Everything on the top list I got for 50 dollars, and the junkyard stuff on the bottom I could have got but I ran out of time. Would the Exedy OEM kit be OK on my stock H22A. I might consider some bolt-ons later down the road as I don't even have a CAI.

I have to get this done before May because I don't think my auto will survive the 2200 mile trip to MI and back this summer. Anyway, some helpful hints or advise are welcome.

I bought a slave and the master from TAS. No complaints for using them when i did the same conversion. Just make sure to bench bleed first before installing otherwise you'll be there for a long time pumping.

Got some stuff in. I am stuck on what ECU to run. I was going to go P28, but I don't don't want to buy a new intake manifold and there was something else that wasn't compatible. Anyway what ECU should I go with?

Are you replacing only the passenger side mount with a solid mount and using stock mounts on the rear and driver's side?
            3 CB's gone....
            1 WK Overland....

Still miss the CB though......maybe one day.

You dont need a new rear mount or btacket.

I grabbed everything off the donor car I had time to grab. I believe I'm running a p13 now, but somewhere I read even if you fix the resistor issue on the board it still isn't good to run an auto one.

Also, not sure if this is going to happen before I drive to MI. I'm flying out to NJ next Friday for Formula Hybrid SAE competition, get back for finals, then a I have a few days before I drive to MI. And I about run out of money and won't start getting my checks from Chrysler until mid June.

So I've got my money together. I think I'm going with a P72, any good recommendation on where to find one chipped, basic tune ( I don't want to tune it until I get all my performance parts together), and 2 step capable?

the only part ive gotten from tas besides the intake was the ss clutch line and that wasnt really on my car for very long. i just finished my auto to 5spd swap a few months back and ive had non stop problems with the clutch not hold pressure, and most of my parts are all from advanced auto parts and the quality of most of those parts have been sub par so if you ever need replacement parts i would suguest to not go with them. for the ecu im using a p28 with a h22 base map and why would you have to get a new intake manifold to use that??? a p72 would be the same as a p28 because both have to be chipped with a h22 map so that would make them damn near identical and yes you should be able to add a 2 step. i cant really say where to find one chipped with basic tune because i bought mine from a friend. and good luck with the swap once you start, i did mine id say about 95% myself and it took forever because i had never done it before and some things i needed someones help but my luck wasnt there for me.

Out was my understanding the P28 didn't control the secondaries on the manifold. I plan on getting mine done in a day or so. Depends on how well put together my parts list is.

You will run into 0.00 issues using a auto ecu with a 5spd tranny. Don't waste your money.

OK, I'll give it a try. I picked up greddy clutch master and slave cylinder, and a manual cluster.

Wow, I finished the swap exactly a year after I sarted this thread. I did think it took me that long to pull the trigger.
