    G22

    SO I got a h22 head and I have a few questions about a g22 build.

About how much HP will I get
    Could I use a f22a or f22b intake manifold?
    Would I use a h22 or f22 head gasket?
what is different about the h22 and f22 water pump gear. I heard you have to change it.
And I heard that I will need to drill out a plug in the block to supply oil to the head. Can someone post pix of where I need to do it?

I am looking for some old threads but I cant find any.

Their is suppose to be a write up on H-Tech.I've never been that interested with it, but the F22a nor the F22b IM will work you'll need to run an H22 intake mani.I've always wondered about an opposite swap H series block F22a head.

I got the head "free" anyway.
I just called a machine shop and they said they can tig weld the gash and then machine it. Does that sound like it will hold up?

Just get an H22A block. You're clearly no expert at engine building, so the chances of this being reliable are slim.

I'm not going to waste my time repeating myself... I've given my arguments as to why this swap is a bad idea dozens of times. If you care to know what my reasons are, feel free to search.

Also, it's not a "G" series. The G exists, and it has NOTHING to do with the H or F engines.

I know your argument to keep an engine with the head thats made for it. I want a h22 block but it will cost alot. I might try to get one.

For the price to do this right you may could have had an H sitting in your bay running. There's several if not more H22 blocks lying around blown up. Did you post in the parts wanted? Find some OEM or Type S pistons, Used Mahles, or whatever you prefer. If you already have the head, you're pretty much halfway there. Why stop now?

It will cost just as much as an H22 block to do the work necessary to make this work properly... and even then, it may fail... if it does work properly, you'll be left with a low-redline, low-compression mockery of an H22.

Plus, the cylinder bores are smaller than the combustion chamber bores... which means you'll have a sharp ridge in your combustion chamber... getting hot, causing engine-destroying detonation.

Trust me, this head swap is NOT a cheap alternative to an H22. If you want to do it just because you feel like a challenge, go for it... but if you're just doing it because you got a free head and can't afford a block... don't. You're going to end up with empty pockets and a broken engine. Trust me.

Just not worth the effort man, esp for someone who doesn't know what the hell theyre doing... sell the head and put that $$$ into your F22A, there's a LOT of CHEAP power to be made from it

G22 swap, for sure why not go for it!. I'll add to your budget and offer to buy your discarded F22A PT3 head. It's a non VTEC SOHC so I'll offer you $50+ shipping (USD) to Canada?
