that sucks, someone told me awhile back that they had used some ajax (porous) to make a paste and put a thin layer on the cylinder wall to reseat rings on an engine with old rings, but I sure as hell wouldn't try that unless I could find some people that have done it with successful results I am not big on putting household products in my crankcase either but...

if dish soap can go in a radiator......

yea well anyway, does anyone know of any way to get the rings to reseat (assuming the cylinder wall isn't nicked) without having to take the top end off...??

would love to hear any suggestions....

Have you done your latest compression tests? I would just drive it for 200-300 miles and check compression again.

will you, I'm going to try and fix the fiv today so I can put some miles on it, I ordered the o-rings from the dealer this morning but I'll see if I can't get the old ones to reseal (already have tb gasket...)

will do, I have to fix my fiv first though.... I ordered the o-rings from the dealer today, I already have the tb gasket so I'll see if the old o-rings are reusable...
