    clarification on auto2manual swaps

wondering, if ive got an automatic cb7 coupe..if i get a ESP auto-to-5spd mount kit...am i limited to swapping in the f/h22 alone? will a h23 block work? what about going from an automatic f22 to a k? what im asking is if the car being an automatic limit my swap variety or choice of transmission?

You could use any F/H block, The only thing the mount does is allow you to mount a manual F/H to an automatic accord, all F/H transmissions are interchangable minus the prelude type SH and the s2000

And as far as the I goes, you would have to cut off the bracket on that side and weld a new one one from the mount kit.

not entirely true, all h22 h23, and some f22 trans came with five holes in the case for trans mount studs, some cb7 trans only came with three and cannot except the esp mount or be swapped into a prelude.
        1990 accord Honda-Challenge, H22 powered
        newer race video,older race videos
1991 accord parked, parts and back up shell
        1993 accord acquired 6-11-16

k swap are serious work as i am doing one right now and struggling to get thru, surely but slowly. K swap requires you to drill out the passenger side bracket where the h/f tranny is mounted and new hasport braket mount or welded on to replace it. to answer ur question don't let the auto stop ur swap cause mines is an auto coupe and it is going to be a 6 speed when im done. Hope this give u an inspiration.

if i remember correctly he did mention auto and k some where in the sentence in the very first post, so i though i'll put in some insight for the guy to not lose hopes on automatic cb's.

definitely man...definitely gonna be the first in anything i do to my cb7 on this little ass island lol..gotta do my research n do it right tho...so for ur tranny mount, did u use the auto-to-5spd bracket welded on? maybe a combination of that & the cbk tranny mount?

no, if you look at how my engine sits in the engine bay you'll notice that the actual engine is on the opposit side of the stock accord engine and in 360 degree turn. for the engine n tranny mounts i used the hasport k24 swap mounts and modify them to take the k20 tranny, Hasport didn't make the mounts to swap in a k20 type s or si. if how ever you decided to do a v6 or k swap you don't need to worry about the auto to manual swap mounts at all cause you'll be using and should be buying the manual swap mounts for your application and from that point on you will need to drill out the old transmission bracket mount on the passenger side fram rail, however no one out there makes a v6 swap mounts for our beloved cb7's. Only hasport (www.hasport.com) makes the k24 swap mount for the cb7 chassis. any ways if ur serious about doing it it can be done.

over the years i have hear of and spececulated about the different kind of swaps and setups compared engines and all but up until now, only a hand full of cb7 owner's out there are taking it to the full extend. seriously i just got tired of the h,f,and b swaps. Now is the time for the new engines and technology. Im not talking shit about those older engines but i have done plenty in my time and am going with what's best out there for me. please cb fellow don't get mad at me for saying that.
