Swap thoughts anyone? (My first swap June 2011)

So i picked up my H from JDM Engine Depot on 12/4 when i inspected it everything was fine. I left in their hands to go pay for it. By the time I got it out of the truck my brother say. Hey they broke a bolt head of in your spark plug cover.....

What. So JDM Engine Depot says "You can use a pair of needle nose plier to take it out."

I'm not saying don't buy from the because in the tri-state area they got the best prices. Just keep an eye the guy with your motor He wont man up.

Here it the main reason for the post. I'm getting ready to start replacing gaskets, pumps and o-rings. espeically distributor o-rings. the dizzy on CB's f22 just keeps leaking oil. Of course i only replace one of the o-ring (outter)

I Think I should with a gasket kit from the head up. and then do the water, oil pump, tensioner conversion, and timing belt in that order while the motor's out of the car. Then i'll clean the egr ports and FITV and IACV umm I'm used to my F22. I'mm drag this out till the warm weather comes back.

Any specific order you all recommend.

    Of course she's getting polished.

There seem to be a few H swaps going on lately, my brain's a bit overwhelmed keeping them straight. You the one that was going to have an experienced shop do the work for you? And now they screwed up so you're doing it yourself?

Anyway, work your way from the inside of the engine out. There's no point in working on parts that will need to be removed later to get to things behind/under them. By "she's getting polished", do you mean a port polish? Take the head to a machine shop first thing, in that case. Or if by "polish" you mean clean... do that beforehand. It's so much nicer to work with clean parts, plus you get all the nooks and crannies you might miss while everything's bolted together and parts are blocking other parts. Everyone loves a mint engine bay!

Nah, I was gonna have a shop do the swap but I killed that idea when they started talking crazy, like for real who's pay a mechanic to do a job when the mechanic basically says if I mess up you gotta pay me to fix it. I'll pass on that. It was just like three different stories from three different mechs.

I say if you've got the time to chill on the motor for a bit, I say do it. Take the time to prep her up before she is dropped in. It's always easier to do it out of the car.

Question, were you pleased with your service and engine choice with JDM Engine Depot? Would you recommend them to anyone else?

If you have the time, I would change the clutch and flywheel. By then, you know all serviceable parts have been changed and you know the mileage of each. There is no telling how many miles are on the clutch and its much easier to change outside the car. Just my $.02.

Too be honest yeah that was messed up. Wow. Just means I gotta slow down on the Southern Comfort.

My intention was to give an account of my experience with JDM Engine Depot, state what I was planning, and welcome any suggestions.

Yeah, I'd do the rear main, clutch kit, flywheel if possible. Anything you may or want to do is the perfect timing since the engine is still out like you said. I did my H23 manual tensioner conv when the engine was out, it was easy. GL man.

On the H, are the spark plugs numbered the say way as they are on the F.

Sweet thanks. I was having a hard time finding the order.

Honest opinion here. Do you think anyone would possibly benefit from me posting pics of the process I use to build the vtec harness. or would that just be overkill?

After you did the manual tensioner install, when you put the belts back on for the timing; I'm just asking to see if got this process down, did you have everything indicating TDC, and then put the belts on. Is there anything else to the timing?
