Just going to take a guess and say he's referring to the IAB box? that's the first one that comes to mind.

        My thoughts exactly

I thought so too, but was trying to get him to at least put some effort into the question.

As for the IAB, most people on here just run it to vacuum, which is worthless, but they don't listen, so if I were you and the vacuum box (black box) is broken just take apart the IM and remove the IAB plate, take the butterflies out and fill the holes with JB weld, or similar material. Then reassemble it will be more beneficial and cheaper then trying to make it work.

year i mean the black box near the charcoal canister and the fuel filter.
my car is a 92 lx. I used the IAB on the h22 and wired it in.
but figured id ask to see if having that black box is a must or not.
i used the map sensor on the intake but i think the wiring is wrong.
anyone know the thread for the map sensor wiring?

All you have to do is take the black box apart and remove the MAP sensor. Toss everything else. The MAP sensor is the small black square thing with a connector on it. The connector connects to the throttle body. Plug the vacuum ports on the throttle body with something (rubber plugs, silicone, etc.) It worked great for me and my homeboi.
