    Power Steering belt

I have a H22A in the car. I ordered a new power steering belt as mine is starting to go. I got a 93 prelude 2.2L VTEC model power steering belt but I cannot get this thing on. I"ve got the adjuster bolt (and other bolts loosened) and the whole unit moves but not enought to get the belt on. Is there a chance I ordered the wrong belt or the guys at the store messed up the order?

Anyone else had this problem? here's a pic of my car.., any help would be appreciated. I'm going to go Sat morning to return the belt, etc.

By looking at picture, you have a JDM H22A from a SiR Accord.(Correct me if I'm wrong) Which uses a different power steering pump, bracket and pressure line. It has the same system on the 2001 Prelude US version, which uses a belt 1 inch longer than the one from a 93 Prelude Vtec. Like the one I am using, not sure if you can tell by my sig. I have one question though. What part# or what model did you use for the power steering high pressure line? If all fail you can use a string to measure the length of the belt you need, bring the string to autopart store and look for the right size belt. although I am
pretty confident that 2001 Prelude US Version should work fine. Lmk about the high pressure line you are using. TY

I believe you are correct, thanks. Its a H22A but the PS pump was replaced by a mechanic I use to visit. (he also stripped one of the bolts on it :P)
Looks correct from the below pic, but i'll get the old one off and take it to a place. They can look up the diff. I'll look up the high pressure line # tomorrow for you. I know its the H22A line with crimped ends (hard crimped).

No problem. You should be able to buy the bolt that got stripped from honda using the same 2001 Honda Prelude as model referrence

Ya, I haven't tried to get it off as I would need to clamp the flat end somehow. Drilling may be required.

Where is the bolt. On the bracket or on the pump itself? How about the belt have you replaced it yet.

haha, well. So I went to get a 2001 prelude belt and buddy looked it up and was like "this belt is the same size as the 93 prelude belt", and I was like doh!
So i went and took the old belt off and took it in and he looked up the serial # and came back with a belt and said "here you go, this will work". Sure enough, it fits and works fine! Now get this, the belt is for a 84-89 Nissan ZX or a 84-89 Nissan Maxima. I am totally confused how this is possible, as I know the pump is from a prelude. weird.
The stripped bolt is the one you have to reach under the belt to get. I only have two bolts for my PS pump.

I also looked at the PS line for you. There are a bunch of #'s on there but only the rubber hose part which is the #'s for the specs. It says 4300PSI max, and flame resistant resin line, there is one # on there, but wanted to check if this is what your looking for?

The power steering high pressure hose is the one that is bolted on top of the power steering pump and connected to the sttering rack. tu

It was made. Its the H22 power steering line and then a F22 end crimped on to fit into the steering rack.

No Prob. I'm still not sure why I have a 84-89 Nissan maxima PS belt.

what is the part number on the belt you bought? the correct one is 40 inches in diameter, so if you streched it out and measured it from end to end it would be 20 inches.

I'm not sure now. not seeing it on the belt (prob down by the underpulley), and receipt is gone. It was something like 7609K8.....
But I know not to stretch belts to try and fit them on. I'll look tomorrow when its bright out.
