I was watching an old top gear episode when I heard that in Japan the cb7 came with a 5 cylinder option. Has anyone ever seen or even heard of this?

The old 2nd and 3rd gen Accords in Japan also had a pretty much identical version called the Vigor. The next gen Vigor with the 5 cylinder engine (same as USDM) looks totally different from the Accord but had the chassis code cb5 so it's kind of still in the Accord family.

They carry quite a few parts that fit on our CB's as well (IE they have the same part number for front brake calipers (CB9, BB1, BB4 to name a few)). I did some reading about the Vigor and was curious about it (but sadly not much aftermarket for it engine wise that is.) Try walking like that for a few weeks and see if your shoes wear funny! (hint: they will.)

the engine and tranny are mounted north-south and it has a weird transmission with a seperate diff like the legeneds my guess would not be worth the work unlees you wanted cool points for being different the engine was rated at 176hp you might as well just buy a vigor instead of going trough the hassle to turn a cb7 into a cb5 vigor lots of work just to look like a different car you can already buy just my opinion
