    H22 Swap Running Weird

I set all of the gears TDC so it can't be that making it run like this. So what could it be? Give me some input please. Could it be because I haven't got the air out of the coolant lines yet? Or because of some kind of vacuum problem? I just need some input and help because this is the only car I have to drive right now.

Here's the link if you can't see the video on this page:

Here's a new video of me driving it after putting new spark plugs in:

I have the same problem right now. I mean the exact problem!!! All I can think it is would be timing. It started after I did my timing and yes, it all lines up. FYI, I put in new plugs, cap, rotor, wires and ignitor.

    What gives?

That's crazy! I don't know for sure. But it seems like a wire isn't connected somewhere. Or a ground. A guy I know that used to have an H in a CD5 is comin up here in about an hour. If he figures somethin out I'll post it up! But as of right now I have no idea.

make sure you have the plug wires on right. my friends hatch sounded like that when he had his wires mixed up. he had them in the right order but in the wrong location, his 3 was where his 1 should be his 1 was where 2 should be his 2 was where his 4 should be and his 4 was where his 3 should be. get what im trying to say? kinda weird to explain. we rotated them into there right spots and it ran great. have you maybe tried a different firing order? or checked to see if all the cylinders are running? are any of your sensors unplugged? or broke? did you just put the swap in? has it ever ran legit? have you checked the valve adjusment?

            good questions.

So did your friend with the CD5 come and help ? I'd like to know
if you got it running right ? And a video is a must.

If this helps... back when I had help doing the timming belt on my H... We got both cams off a tooth... It ran fairly smooth, just had no power at alll... Limp mode bad. Ur issue is non timming related I would imagine. Cause i think you can only have each cam off max of a tooth or bad things happen...

I would check, all wires, test the spark plug wires for resistance.

Check the thermostate ground. Very commonly overlooked.

Compression test may help too, has the motor ever ran right?

              Any ecu codes?

After watching your video, it looks like your CEL is on. What motor are you running and what year is it?

I'd pull the codes first, then report back here and let us know.

My friend came but we didn't get it running right.
                  It's running a map sensor code(#3) and a #6.

I'm pretty sure I'm just going to get a new wiring harness from a junkyard. A 5-speed harness this time so I won't have extra plugs like I do on the auto wiring harness.

Diagnose and properly fix your codes first. Double check your wiring to and from the MAP sensor to make sure all pins are in the correct location.

I'm guessing those extra plugs on the auto harness are just for the transmission computer and solenoids.

Kinda figured somethin out. I'm gonna see if it works tomorrow.
My first H22 has a different throttle body than my new one. The new one has a map sensor on top of it. The old one didn't. I'm gonna put the throttle body off of my old one on my new one and see what that does.
Here are pics of what I mean:
                        New Throttle body

Old throttle body next to the one on my new H22
