I kept my F tranny on mines.

Doesnt have the full potential as the H tranny, but i needed my daily driver up and running so i stuck with the F.

Feels like my stock motor, with VTEC and faster acceleration, lol.

Blew my original tranny because during the swap, i lost quite a bit of fluid, and didnt dran the tranny. I just filled it up with 2 and a half quarts and drove it like that.

Turns out, you gotta run the transmission through all the gears after filling her up to activate all the solenoids and so that the fluid travels everywhere in the tranny, and refill as necessary.

So far, i logged about 400+ miles. No issues yet. Thats with 5 and a half quarts of geniune honda automatic transmission fluid.

First of all, a swap is not an investment. You won't get your money back if you try to sell it. You're actually reducing your possible resale market.

Now, with that said, you can definitely use your F series transmission. I have an Accord EX 5 spd trans on my H22A1 (with a Prelude final drive, but that's another story) and I'm quite happy with it. Slightly better fuel economy than with the H trans, but you will lose some acceleration. If you're not planning on racing and want a daily driver, I would actually recommend using the F trans. I did my swap with the H trans and swapped in the Accord trans after a few years for better fuel economy and I got an increase of about 10% (more or less) in mileage. I've put on about 50,000 miles on the swap and it is still Honda-reliable.

Accords are for winners. And Grandmothers. But mostly winners.
