air tools will not help, you still need the same amount of leverage even if you had a powerful enough pneumatic wrench or drill...

that part posted earlier will make cake of getting that bolt off...
you need to make sure you have a ratchet holding the crank pulley tool in place so the engine wont turn.
stack wood to support the ratchet you use to get the bolt off, attach a long breaker bar to that, grab a friend and it should take some work, but it'll break right loose.

well due to the simple fact that i really need my car back on the road at the moment im just gonna put the motor in for now and buy the tool in a few weeks and within 2 months ill take the motor back out and just do the conversion. i know its kind of pointless to do this but i dont mind taking the motor out and putting it back in anyways.

If you go that route, you may want to take the pulley bolt off with the engine in the car, and while your at it, try the auto-tensioner swap with the engine in too. But I didn't think you would have enough room to do the auto-tensioner swap with the engine in. (gah, it would be so hard to see the bolt holes and putting little springs on, etc)

          Best of luck though.

well the motor is in the car as of last week just sorting a few small things out on it now. here is a video of the car running kind of roughly for a few seconds then with me reving it no more the 500 rpms at a time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCVk8vJVd-Y

i think i might be able to do the tensioner swap with it in the car i mean i can get my hand behind the intake manifold and pull the heater core hose out with the motor in the car lol. so there might be enough space for me to do it and i dont have any other things in the way like ps pump/belts.

Its not too hard to get in there, I did it not too long ago.
                Installed new T-belt and auto-tensioner.
The hardest part was getting the timing covers off, the ABS lines on the shock tower were pretty close.

hey i was skimming through all these posts and ill add my 2 cents. I have a
H22A for a daily driver. Yesterday i just changed the timing belt and bought a new auto tensioner because my old one was leaking oil and making the belt too tight. I changed all of that with the engine in the car.

I lifted the car up a little and took off the front drivers tire to access the tensioner, silent shaft belt, and obiously lower part of the timing belt. I used an air gun with 3/4 inch tip on the crankbolt and it came off no problem. Those usualy are a pain in the ass to get off. You might need the special hex tool that fits in there. My hardest part was getting the lower cover off and in lol

took me about 5 or 6 hours total with lunch break and waiting for new parts and waiting on shared tools in the shop. (local gas station my dad owns)

if you need any help or have any questions ill gladly help ya pm or post here! I dont know about the auto to manual tensioner tho?
