Not entirely true. Guy around my area had a boosted b16 in a civic, managed to punch a hole through the block. While waiting for a new motor to be built he welded a piece over the hole and ran the motor in a race boosted without any problems.

if its coolant leaking from the hole are you sure its a hole or is a freeze out plug missing? do these engines even have freeze out plugs?

is it an f22a? looks kind like the drain bolt hole.../ or its the hole that goes to a hose that connects an oil cooler sandwhich plate

** i know it may not be same block but its just about the same, and good reference.

engines have removeable plates on holes that are in the rear. its to drain the block. just replace the plate. you push it in, then pull it out sideways

Since you have an F22a1 you dont have the oil cooler.
However the hole is still there, except Honda put a screw-in plug.
Sounds like the plug somehow came unscrewed.

Get another screw in plug, either through honda or go to the JY
Your going to need a rather LARGE Allen wrench.

                            Its pictured as #2
#1 is the oil cooler part that replaces #2 in an F22A6
