While I have not done an H22 swap, yet, I hate the F22 tranny. 1st gear is way to short. It does not pull enough. It might be nice for getting the car started from a stop, but 1st gear does not seem to pull near as well as 2nd on up. I just think there is to much of a drop from 1st to 2nd and 1st gear seems pretty useless.

Just one of my gripes. When I do a H22 swap, it will be with the H22 tranny and LSD. I do not plan on forced induction. Just some S-type pistons to up the compression ratio a little and call it a day.

    Just my $.02

Well, I may be wrong, but I belive that the 1st gear in the F22 tranny is the same in the H22 tranny. Where are you getting your S-pistons from, i might do the same while I have the motor out of the car

They very well may be the same, I don't know. What I do know is that in a CB7 with the stock F22, the tranny sucks. I can't imagine putting it behind (next to???) an H22. It seems, at least from my recollection of driving Preludes and what people on here have said, the H22 motor and H22 tranny are pretty well made for each other.

I am sure the F22 motor and tranny serve a purpose, but I am not sure what. Then again, my Accord has provided, between my Dad and I, 13 years of wonderful service and 275,000 Honda miles with not much other than normal maintenance and given back around 27-30mpg on a regular basis - still. She still starts every day and runs well, just not as fast as I would like.

I'd go with the h22a tranny whether LSD or not.. Boosted or not.. the gear ratio's will be able to distrubute the power alot better/quicker rather than having the powerband increase slowly with an f22 tranny.. even boosted the h22a tranny will perform that much better.. because just because you STAY in boost longer doesnt mean your making more power.. just means your making that power and distributing it along a wider scale.. stick with the h22a tranny.. whether LSD or not.. its worth the money and you wont be dissappointed...
