My car is too damned heavy with a bad rack and pinion alog with semi flat tires, i cant turn.

I just need some pointers to put me in the correct direction.

Money is VERY tight at the moment, so i want to spend the least amount possible to get my car running with power steering and no check engine light.

Power steering: At the moment, i have the PS that came with the motor, my F22, and the H23 i ordered.
I have the F22 high pressure line, and ordered my second set of prelude high pressure line (first one cut and welded and failed to put it to the JDM PS unit)

So what do i do to get power steering in my car?

Ouch! Sorry to hear, man. It's the worst when it happens to your daily driver. It's not as frustrating when something goes wrong and you have a 2nd car to drive.

When it comes to used engines, you just never know what you're getting. I bought an H22 swap before. I replaced all the maintenance parts, including the oil pump, before the swap went in. For 5 years and over 50K miles, not ONE problem. Now this engine is in my Accord.

I also bought an SR20DET swap off a guy. Didn't turn out as well as the H22. I got a great price on it though. I got two swaps for the price of one. After parting out the other one (it was disassembled), the SR20 in my 240SX cost me nothing. I was told that it ran great and the clutch was great. Neither claims were correct. It's smoking and the clutch is stiff as hell and slipping! I am holding off on it right now, but I will just buy a replacement SR20, swap it in and then build this one for higher HP. I was planning to do a build for higher HP, just hoped I didn't have to do it so soon.

Anyway, hope it all works out for you. Just remember, you're not alone. It happens.

Wow dude, how did you know it was my faily driver? Haha.

Yeah it sucks, but the failed part was, i lost a great amount of tranny fluid, and only poured in about 2 and a half quarts, and didnt run it through all the gears to check to the level.... supposedly i ran it low on oil from what a buddy said, and the gears welded together. (car doesnt go forward or reverse, and when thrown into park with car on, it grinds; electrical buzzing.)

When i pulled the drain plug, there was so much metal shavings, the oil came out in gunks.

All in all, the motor ran great, cept for the knock sensor CEL i keep getting at 7.5k rpms or 30-45 mph rolls.

Bought a used auto tranny for $440 with 6 month warranty

Broke the speed sensor console tonight, so i have to go pick one up from the junkyard (warranty one didnt come with ANYTHING, i mean, nothing, no screws, no starter, no speed sensor) but it came with the solenoids, hehe.

update late friday or saturday morning.

I believe my H22a was purchased from hmotorsonline as well. It's been running for 5 years now.

Had a water pump going out on my A6, thought was main bearing, replaced with JDM H22A.
Threw Map sensor code on idle, and knock sensor at 7.5k or 30-35mph.

Got rid of map code, waited on power steering pump from h23... got cited for car being on jack stands (stoopid california) so i drove my car around the block, testing to see if knock sensor code appeared (it did)

Drove it to 45mph, no CEL, no codes, come up to a light, release brakes and light throttle, car sits there and revs like it was in neutral.

Towed the car home, removed drain plug, find all sorts of metal shavings in the oil.

Bought a used tranny with 6 month warranty (waiting to come in)

So before i ran into the tranny problem, i spent over $3,200 in parts (needed for the swap) I did all the labor myself. (did not include beer and food prices, which was costly)

Now with a tranny on top (costed me $440) im closing in to 4k.

I just want to give up and say, whoever can come up with the money i spent for all the parts, can take over the car and the rest of the work.

Shit man I feel you I nearly gave up on mine 3 times before I finally got her running.

I started out with a ruined f22a1 that was running on 3 of 4 cylinders. So i got a motor from tiger jap and away I went..

Bear in mind that I had a so called freind help me with my instal and he ran wires backwards, broke my tps, my kock sensor, and cuts my fuel line in half for some reason... Fortunataly Sunburn saved my ass with a kock sensor and a iab box. And I got a tps at a junk yard.

Ger her all back together and it wnt run. throwing code 9 for crank position sensor. I got 3 bad distros in a row at autozone ( and I know they were bad, I was converting them to internal coil which can be done) and I decided to just get a jdm distro from hmotor online and she lives again.

Runs like piss. Turns out, my so called freind ran my tps wires to my egr and egr to tps. Took me month to find that one.

I put 3K on her and I shredded the teeth on the clutch witch was a ACT stage 3 unsprung clutch. ACT dicks me on the warrenty....

So I dropped the trans out through the bottom..... It can be done but never again.

FInally it lives and I can enjoy it...

Dnt give up man... I was there, but was so glad I didnt let go. I love they way these cars feel going down the road and the way you sit in them, it's comfortable...

All in all, im around 4.5K ish n my swap, so I feel your pain on the money situation.
