which g23 are you reffering to?
there are several combinations of 2.3l blocks and applicable heads.
for the most part, the increase in power (if any from stock block slash head being used) isn't worth the hassle of buying/measuring oem parts.
unless you have them lying around or unless custom hybrid builds get your dick hard.
I personally am looking into f23 block f22a head. Seems like the best combination with reliability/power/price in mind.

yeah yeah, so its not a REAL G series, but thats what the engine has been tagged so I'm not gonna start calling it an L23 just because its not an actual G-series.
I have read the article, that's why I was asking if anybody thinks it would be worth it.
I also realize that their dyno was on a bunch of extra mods that I most likely won't have. Lets say I do some mild head work and I/H/E. Would a G23 be worth it, or at least worth it over an H22.
Thanks

What 2.3L block are you planning on using? What head are you planning on using? We can't even come close to answering your question unless we know exactly what you'll be using. THAT is why the "G23" is a stupid name, because it doesn't specify what block and head.
Like sulimed's engines... I wouldn't have thought he was using an F23 block and F22B DOHC head. I also wouldn't have thought that he got the parts for $300 total (with probably another $250 or so for gaskets, belts, and other misc. parts needed). For that price, it's a fairly cheap, refreshed, 2.3L DOHC engine. If you're using a $300 H23A block with a $250 H22A head... plus the cost of gaskets, belts, VTEC solenoid, header (because unlike the F22B head, your F22A stuff won't fit)... then you're getting into a much more expensive range, making this swap pretty pricey... and stupid, because it is very likely to fail, as most frankenstein swaps do. For very little more, you could just pick up a JDM H23A and have the same thing.
