    ARP head studs

Do you still use H23 ARP heads studs if you are putting an H22 head on a F22A1 block ? I want to use ARP main bolts too , is there a kit for them or do I have to buy them separate ?

SO I guess that I will still use the H23 ARP head stud kit , but I also want to use ARP main bolts on the crank girdle . These are the bolts I want to replace with ARP bolts , . Is there a kit that would have these in them or would I just need to measure and order them by size ?

Ha ur gonna make me post pix of my goodies lol. The head stud is what I call it but it's also called a main bolt kit. It's the bolts that mates the head to block right? I'll look up the seller I used it like 135 ish shipped to my door.

Thanks man . That would be great . I got my block back from the engine shop yesterday . I had it cleaned , pressure checked and had the cylinders measured to see what the minimum bore I was going to be able to get by with and brought it home to powder coat it , then back for the boring when my pistons come in . I decided to go with Bisimoto 86mm 8.2 to 1 compression . According to the Engine Compression Ratio (CR) Calculator from csgnetwork.com with a Cylinder Bore Size of 86mm , Piston Stroke Length of 95mm , Head Gasket Bore Diameter of 88mm , Compressed Head Gasket Thickness of .66mm , Combustion Chamber Volume In CCs of 53.8cc , Piston Dome Volume In CCs of -21 and a deck clearance of 0 I'll be making 8.00173822584155 to 1 compression . I got on order right now an OBX intake manifold and TB and I just bought a Vecco Performance turbo manifold , down pipe and dump tube . I have my rods , bearings new oil and water pumps and all the gaskets seals and stuff for the bottom end . I got precision 880cc injectors and will be tuning with crome . I'm still hoping to find a crome base map to start it with , but no luck yet .

oh wow .... lol im still a little bit of a noob when it comes to engine build but im learning and learning fast. now im just curious why did u ge the obx intake mani??? i just ended up goin with the h23 mani. although im thinkin about sending the tb out to maxbore to get it opened up. i know the obx mani will give you more intake volume but whats the purpose your goin for with that?

I am a newbie too . I've been spending 2 to 4 hours a day researching this build . I'm partners in a shop , but I do powder coating and machine shop work . I had the machine shop before I got into cars as my last hobby was gunsmithing . I don't work on cars often except for electrical problems . My partner is the auto mechanic at the shop , but has never worked with F or H series engines much . He primarily works on KA's , CA's , SR's and RB's ( Nissan ) and B and K series Honda's . I went to school for electronics and have been through industrial electricity at vocational school , so the electrical problems normally end up on me . I got the OBX intake manifold (1) at a good deal , (2) cause I like the way it looks and (3) the H22 heads I got didn't come with an OEM intake manifold . The H23 mani won't work on the F22 head , I might not have posted in this thread , but I'm doing a G22 build . I plan on using the 70mm OBX throttle body as well . The OBX intake manifold was not a necessity , LoDollar92LX is making over 500WHP with a stock but highly ported and matched by him OEM h22 manifold . I've always modded BMW's and this is my first car that has allot of offerings from the after market . And I'm buying allot of stuff for looks that I would be just as well off with out and I'm sure the OBX mani is one of those . It will more or less be a rolling advertisement for our shop so allot of extra stuff is being done just for the sake of doing it . I've got all the suspention parts off and pretty much everything that can be unbolted and will stand 400 degrees of curing temp will be powder coated and having a machine shop in house there will be allot of the stuff custom fabbed from billet . Here's a picture of how it sit striped down right now .
