    f22b dohc idle surge??

    what up fella's,

i swapped in a jdm f22b dohc into my 91 ex a couple weeks ago and have been experiencing idle surge. now i cant seem to pin point the problem. it will idle between 900-1500 rpms and is a real dog under 2300 rpms.

i replaced the cap, rotor, fuel filter, timing belt, water pump, valve cover gasket, upper and lower rad hoses, cat coverter, clutch, and accecorie belt. i used the f22b intake mani, distributor, my ex ecu, my f22a dc header, 2.5' aem cai, my f22a ngk wires, f22a goose neck and thermosensor, and i bled the coolant system.

now i think it could be either the plugs(anybody know the part #?), idle air control valve, or fast idle valve. i took the intake pipe off and covered the trottle body, no vacuum leaks, then i plugged each hole in the TB, but there is 2 holes and they're both the same size. the lower one didnt do anything, but the upper one made it idle down. now from what i have read if it idles down like that its the fast idle valve. however i dont know which hole is which. now being that this swap isnt to popular its hard finding people that know anything about it.

if anybody could help me out i would greatly appreciate it. TIA

    Jim

hey man, sorry to hear that.

i can't offer you any info, but do you like the f22 DOHC?

I was wondering if i could swap that head onto my f22b1 block?

have you had any trouble finding parts for it?

    thanks

i have the same problem.. i can bear with it...

i think our problem is the fast idle control thing.......

its fine when the motor warms up to temp?
      welcome to the DOHC-side..muuuahahahahahah

yeah it runs better once its warmed up, but still feels like a dog under 2200 rpms. does yours stall? mine does when it first warms up and then its fine. i can bare with the idle problem but the stalling is pissing me off. i think im gonna bypass the fast idle valve and see if that helps. ill let u know.
