    Alright then, sweet

Does anyone have any arguments for or against the setup I suggested? I don't want to simply burn chips, but rather tune the ECU on the fly.

And Zigen, I guess I would need to fiddle with an SAFC to appreciate it. If I could find one for under $100, I would probably grab it. Still, for $250 and a little help from my friends here on the board I could possibly build my standalone system (no Hondata, but for the money I believe it's more in depth than a magic box.)

H23 cams would fit in this F22b dohc non-vtec head, correct? I am pretty sure on this, need confirmation.

              awesome work guys so far

Well, i have an F22a4 stock 91' AccordEX with 94,XXX miles on it.

I was wondering about much HP/TQ increase we are talking here with the F22B DOHC head. As well as what else would need to be purchaced to make this work corretly, and efficently.

I also had a question about ECU's... as i've been reading you guys are cranking these engines well above 6.3 which is my redline...is this because of the F22B DOHC head?

Also, i know DOHC stands for Duel Over Head Cam...but, as far as mechanicly speaking, how does this help the F22A4 SOHC?

Thanks, i'd love to try this mod because i dont have the 3grand to do the H22A swap

You don't need $3k to get a H22. They are about $1500ish for pretty much everything you'll need.

Well the F22B is rated around 160 Hp and like 145 ft-lbs. I would recommend swapping the IM to either the F22A6 Dual Runner or H23 IM. After that, I would use an aftermarket header, and an ECU change....As far as the advantages of going to DOHC....you get the added tunability of DOHC via individual cam timing.....

well thanks for the input...so your saying that pretty much for the ECU and F22B Head you can get an extra 25HP and some torque?

Oh, btw, i have the F22A4 already So i think i'd just need the F22B head, unless i'm missing something.

                    Thanks

ummmm... Why? the F22B manifold has the exact same stampings as the H23A1 manifold...

What? I told dude to switch from the single runner on his F22A4 to a dual runner from either the F22A6 or the H23. The H23 is better than the F22A6 becasue it has a larger plenum....

If your taking FushigiRES's advice...your F22a4 has a single runner intake manifold and he suggested to use a F22a6 or H23a1 intake manifold.

A side note, how difficult is it to get just a F22b head without buying the whole engine? That's the only downside to this I see, locating one...unless it just falls on your lap cuz somebody happened to be scrapin one, etc.

Also, would a F20b dohc non-vtec head work on a F22ax block as well?

If the F20b and F22b heads both work on a F22ax block, then which flows better (i.e. low, mid, high end).

FushigiRES, have you had a chance to check hp/tq after doing this mod?

Also, i just read the F22a6 swap FAQ and i'm thinking about doing the F22A6 IM swap as well as getting the F22B and the A6 ECU. So i guess what i'm asking is: about how much HP/TQ are we looking at here after it's all said and done. I know you said that the F22B was rated around 160 Hp and like 145 ft-lbs, but does that mean that running the F22A4 Engine, with the A6 IM and the A6 ECU and the F22B head that i will be able to get numbers very close to 160 HP?
