The auto seatbelt pillar does not have the necessary structural support in the needed areas for the seatbelt anchors on the manual belts.

That means that if you just drill a hole in the B pillar and mount the belt in there, IF you get into a serious accident, you ARE fucked. That anchor bolt is going to rip free and you are going to be killed and/or severely injured.

When you are in an accident, your seatbelt does not undergo a tiny bit of force. It is litterally absorbing up to several tons of force. Improperly installed safety devices can be fatal.

THANK YOU! I tried saying that in laymen's terms, but no one seemed to get it. You basically run the same risk when custom fabricating seats/mounts/rails into your car that were not designed for it. You wont know how good of a job you did until a really bad accident.

Ducky, in your first post you state that you hate the auto seat belts, yet in your last post you say you have nothing against them. We all come up with stupid ideas every now and again man, but putting your life and any passengers lives you might have in danger all for a center console, is just plain dumb.

                auto-x cones or "pylons"

the auto-x places that i race arent very strict. you just need air int he tires, seat belts (can even be outdated SFI harnesses) and a muffler.

Yeah, OK, because that matters. WTF?

Go drive your track only car on a street and hit a wall or another car, and see if they fight back.

He wants to drive his car on the street and yours is a track only car. Not a comparison.

I would NOT want to be riding in the car with this around my body.

Id have to agree with npor......I didnt realize how unsafe it really was....If I were to actually do this (luckily i dont have to 92/93 ftw) Id most definatly have to figure out a way to strengthen up that area.....and even then id be sketched out using it.

Im glad no canadian cbs came with the stupid auto seatbelts.
