    H23 Swap info request

I've searched the site and all I can seem to find in the area of swaps is the H22, F22, and Hybrids/Frankensteins of some sort. Is there something wrong with the H23 as an inexpensive upgrade if your motor goes out? What all is needed to make the swap work? Is this too hard, not worth it, or just so common I should be smacking myself in the Nads for not knowing this already? Thanks for the help guys and gal(s)!!!

That should help. I followed that guide when I did my swap. But honestly if you don't plan on going turbo, don't do it. Hope this helps you.

You don't think it's worth it w/o turbo? Even if it's just for an inexpensive hp increase if my motor goes? I'd think it would be better than the stock F?

I just swapped in an h23 and I like it. The torque curve is great and really makes it a fun motor. I would say that unless you can pick one up for say $200-300 then you might as well just get another f for cheap. The h does drink a little more gas, but as always it's a honda motor so it still gets decent milage. It's all up to you man.

just follow the F22B DOHC swap guide...the only difference I can think of is the USDM H23 will have a external coil distributor.

I was thinking it would be better than stock and almost as cheap. Doesn't it make about 160hp? And wouldn't I be able to use the ecu out of the 'Lude?

you can but you'd have to wire up the knock sensor. not hard to do, it's just

                        x2

It's not worth tuning though unless you have a hook up like joser over in cali or unless your doing some work (turbo!) to the motor .

SO this is a viable option, but not a lot of people do it? Is that why I didn't see direct write-up on it?
