    Estimated JDM H22 swap total cost?

    Well, considering this thread is completely out of date ( http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthre...ed+cost&page=2 ) I'm making another.

    This goes out to the guy who have recently swapped an H22 into your accord, what was the approximate total cost of the swap? I'm talking motor, belts, fluids, ect. Everything. If you swapped a H22 with an AUTOMATIC transmission, that'd be even more helpful.

    How about time?

    Thanks

      Look around. Gather all the parts your going to need in a list.
      Look around and see what everything costs and where it's cheapest.
      Decide what to buy where.
      Add.
      Total=answer to your question.

      Not trying to be a douche but it's really easier to get everything if you go over the same list 1 million times. If not, you forget things.

        Hell yea get a tune up, seals, DEFINATELY a timing kit with water pump, and clean it up while the motor is out of the car. Price stuff out on ebay and just get a list together. I think it costed me around 1300 to get my auto swap in.

              I'm in the process of doing one. My h was 940 shipped, the timing belt, water pump, valve cover gasket kit is around 200. The ecu was 87 shipped. I estimate I'll have around 1500 in mine once its all said and done

                I bought a wrecked 91 LX coupe w/ the H22A and Auto MP0A trans already swapped in for 1000. It came with a bunch of other parts like ebay coilovers, a Cat converter w/ exhaust, full int. lowering springs and other stuff, so I kinda recouperated my funds somewhat (40%) by selling those off right off the bat. Then I sold my old engine, header and other stuff, and made money on that.

                It cost me about 500 for all new gaskets (t belt, w pump, rear main, crank seals, cam seals everything) My swap guy charged about 400 to do it and clean the engine up throughly. It was CAKED w/ coolant blocking just about every passage in the head and block, so it was well worth it. Plus he also installed a fresh rack and pinion w/ new seals and relocated the batt. all for that 400 bucks too, so yeah I got off easy. The difficult part was the downtime, it took about 2 weeks more or less, since I had a weird idle issue that would just kill my car, but it wasn't any of his fault, injectors were all messed up and the coil was on its way out from the engine sitting so long
