What ever did you do to try to clean the sludge? I did not see where you said what you did. Might have missed it.
Also did you do the manual tensioner conversion? I bought a new auto tensioner.

Man this thread started in January. Anyway I would also like to know what you did about the sludge. I bought an engine from Jhot once, it was an F23a with the internals so clean you can see your reflection. Anyway I think that was just luck. I would never do buy an engine that I cant physically inspect myseelf again. Chill

I took all the openings apart and sprayed this miracle chemical....B-12 haha

I thought it wasnt enough and I took the cams out and thouroughly cleaned the top of the head, assembly lubed it, and put it back together with all NEW seals.
I basicly left the timeing parts alone...New timeing belt, no countershaft belts, new auto tensioner. I also replaced all the seals on that side of the engine.
I left the Rear Main seal alone, it would've been a bitch to remove my loc-tited flywheel.

When I first ran it, I used seafoam in it, about the whole bottle.
It caused my oil light to come on after about 2 mins, then I drained it and put new oil and filter.
I accidently used 5W-30!!! This made my engine starve for oil
It caused some wierd ass noises and the engine didnt want to run very much.
So, I drained and filled again with 1qt 20W-50, 3qt 10W-40, 1qt Slick 50, then topped it with a Honda Filter.
Runs great, no issues since. Its a miracle motor lol
Its a blast, I need a VTEC Pressure sensor now though, the old one is apparently gummed up from the sludge, sometimes my "VTEC dont kick"
or it will randomly rev limit when I'm in VTEC and I get Code 22 lol

I hate how people compare JHOT useing MY engine
MY engine was a PARTS ENGINE, very bad shape, this was stated before I bought it.
They show you (atleast on my engine) how bad (or good) they look.
Before you call BS on my pics, look at the engine hoist ring attached to the P/S pump
