    F20a?

I got one more question, im deciding what to do. Swap another regular 2.2 liter in my 90 Accord or get the F20A? Is there any big difference between the two? WIll the car be faster with a F20A?

What would you do? Also will the F20A bolt up?

Im looking to spend about 1 grand for engine and labor, and it needs to directly fit, my dad is anal about using different engines, he doesnt like to modify any wiring or anything.

              <sigh>

Having actually had experience with one... I would have to say it IS an upgrade over the SOHC...despite what people who have no experience with this engine say...

I'm noticeably faster than H23A1 ludes with comparable mods... they are not even competition... I can hang with H22's until the upper rpms of 3rd when they start pulling on me...but that's oretty decent for an F20A with an F22A1 tranny...

I bought the F20A for the 88mm stroke because I wanted to rev it high... which it does willingly...I don't have the words to describe the difference between 88mm and 95mm... but it is quite noticeable...

I will never go back to a 95mm stroke... it feels like it's lubricated with peanut butter compared to the 2.0...

How did you install it? Was it easy? Did you fabricate anything?

It dropped right in... like it was meant for the car or something...heh...

Dependinng on how complete the motor is when you get it and which wiring harness you use it is either a super easy swap or just an easy swap...

Nope... If I wanted VTEC I woulda bought an F20B...

I am however going to get into mid 14's...and then who knows...which shouldn't be too hard since I'm almost there anyways... I ran a 15.0 flat on the last test N tune night...

and yeah, seen them, touched them, felt them up good........there are 2 f20a accords around here and they aren't anything special from what i've seen.......
I get a little defensive about this motor... especially when people who have limited time with them comment on them in an authoritative manner...

So for $1000 you have an A6 with cam/I/H/E running maybe mid to low 15's...

With I/H/E/ported TB & an F20A I'm almost into the 14's... cams and some other goodies will easily put me there... and the better R/S ratio leves me alot more room for the improvements I'm planning to make...

So... take it for what it's worth I spose... The F20A put me in between the 1320 times of F22's and H22's...but closer to the H22 side of the spectrum...

I'm not making any claims of what's better than what.... people can decide for themselves... I personally like the F20A better than any F22B, H23A1 or SOHC is all I'm saying...and I get into countless long, detailed conversations when people ask me if my motor is an H23 or an F22B...

I say do whatever you like and don't let anyone else influence that...I'm happy with my motor and glad I didn't listen to people who trashed it as a weaker F22B... because it's not...

Intake would be for whatever car you have...

and the header is kind of up to you... you can use an F22A header, an EX exhaust manifold or use the downpipe from an Accord header and the upper from an H23A1...

I just used my old Chikara torque step header that I ported out... and my old 3" Short Ram...
