its got 180 horsepower. he already put it on the dyno and has the papers to prove it. so what makes it so difficult?

what does it have done to make 180 hp? turbo? if so is he giving you that too? if it is n/a which would be possible but unlikely, especially if he is supposedly giving it to you for free, it still will probably have not much torque. but anyways you would probably need custom mounts and axles and maybe extending some wires and stuff but you can pobably use your wiring harness. and then depending on what you want to keep it would get more complicated, like power steering, A/C etc. so yea Im still saying its not worth it even if it makes this 180hp.

would it be worth it to start a build up on a auto f22a1 with 200,000 plus miles on it and a shitty tranny? or should i just go for a motor swap?

The USDM CRX SI had a D15A1 and sohc non-Vtec engine that did 108hp at the flywheel if I remember correctly. The only 170hp Honda engine I know of is the B16A2 and it still only has barely over 100 ft. lbs. of torque.

If you are getting a B16A2 free the sell it and use that money to buy an H22. The engine has less torque then your stock engine. HP isn't everything.
