im debatin to whether or not buy an f22b over the h22 maybe due to impatience and crap but is the f22b really worthit 160 hp sposed to 200 (h22) juss wondering i mean im pretty close with the money for the f22b so should i juss keep savin or buy the f22b? i juss want opinions and pros and cons and stuff...........

i love mine (f22b).depends do you want to spend $900 more for 40 more hp and the overhyped vtec.
don't get me wrong,i'dh22 all day if it was more resonably price and wasn't overplayed by every honda camp around.civic,integras,accords,preludes,even the occasional 95-97 oddyssey.
demand is high,so the price is high.supply and demand.
wait untill the f22b start really going nuts.(still a "new" motor)price will go up.
when k motor swaps start getting more avalable and lower priced.the h22 will go down. look @ the trend now,h22's have dropped alot in the last few years.used to be you couldn't get an h22 for less than $2500. now 1500 is average.

IMO f22b is worth every penny i spent on it, sure its not a h22 but with the right boltons and the such u can have power! i raced a cb7 with h22 didnt lose by much. im waiting to run him again and see whats up! and i also raced a lude 97-01 and beat him he thought i had a h22. so its up to the owner of the car. if u want to be like every one else get the h u wanna be diffrent go with the f. no matter what they are both good motors!THIS ONE HERE IS CRACK!!

The H22 is a great engine for boost if you can afford it, but most of us can't at the moment. The F22B is much better to boost, and being DOHC, it's great for tuning purposes as well. Better than single cam.
Don't discount the power of VTEC though It's not all hype, especially on the H22. The SOHC VTEC motors are pretty much worthless, but the DOHC performance designed motors are a different story. VTEC allows a nice strong torque curve over much more of the powerband than a non-VTEC engine would allow. It's not a race winner or anything spectacular like that, but it DOES make for a nice base engine to work with.
If you boost an F22B, look for 220-250hp, depending on design and tuning. 8-10psi. It's not worth building NA on a budget, since you'd spend more than $1200 to get less than H22 power.
An NA H22 can get you easily to 220 to the wheels with about $3500 in parts and labor (if you shop smart... maybe even less) That's about it for a reasonably streetable, reliable engine. Properly (safely) boosting an H22 can cost $7,000-$10,000. Cutting corners on an H22 turbo project will leave you with scrap metal.
If you don't plan on doing much to either engine, then I say go H22. In stock form, it's worth the time, effort, and money to swap.

damn i didnt expect all of these replys thanx...... pretty much all i want is a unexpected quick car probably for either engine imma juss do mostly bolt ons so i kinda want like 200 hp which is pretty easy to acheive with 6 psi so its like only diff would be the option of vtec......and lastnite i drove a sohc vtec accord and i was thinkin in my head my accord seems faster than that so i dunno i wasnt 2 impressed with the vtec and i dunno bout u guys i jusssss love the way the h22 looks in our engine bays but when it comes down to it its pretty much how far doi wanna go with my car/engine and also last question how much hp will i be lookin at with i/h/e and pulleys and plugs wires ignition and p&p and cam regrind how much hp will that ballpark figure make?
