The manifolds between the Type-S and regular H22A are different along with the cams, head, valves, springs, yata yata yata, and the Euro-R has the everything the same as the Type-S except a single stage intake manifold (no IAB).
The Type-S/Euro-R factory parts actually work and flow better then most aftermarket shit.
I think you are asking for a headache by just upgrading the pistons. Keep it simple until you are ready to go all out.

Hey Jose, you remember the set up I sent you with all the skunk parts, if all those parts are installed then would I be fine? Just in case here's the list:
Skunk2 Intake Mani
Skunk2 S1 cams
Skunk2 High Comp valves
Skunk2 springs/retainers
Skunk2 Cam gears
Type-S pistons
JDM headers
MSD ignition system
Hyper ground system
Stage 1 or 2 for the cams? Don't wanna have a crappy idle.

As for the Type-S pistons. If yo uare already spending all that money on the top end and you plan to open the bottom to swap in Type-S pistons why not just wait and save a little more and build the bottom end? That would be the wise thing to do. Would really suck dick to spin a bearing or worse have a rod bearing die and smash your new expensive head.
Parts for the H now are routinely going on special so it souldn't be much money. Plus since your in Miami you can get all the machine and balancing work done locally. Finally thank god there are people down here that know a thing or two about Honda engines. It took allot of blown engines and money but finally some people learned.
