    quik question...

Okay so i am jumping back in the CB game.. and found a great car for a great price. Heres the story.. the guy had a f22a1, blew the motor then swapped in a f22a6. Cant get it to start do to it being a f22a6 swap from a AT car into a MT car and the harness dont work! So my question is, can i just show up wit a f22a6 MT uncut engine harness and have the car start right up? I rather drive the car home then having it towed. But it looks like i am gonna have to tow it! but just wondering and see if anyone here knows wat i am talking about or heard of this prob b4! let me know thanx in advance

when it comes to messing with engine wiring harness', you probably don't wanna rush things. take your time and do it right the first time.

Okay so i got some more new info on the engine and maybe someone can maybe give me and answer! okay! the car is a 1990 EX 5spd.. had a f22a1, then a f22a6 was swapped in! it came from a 92 automatic ex. The guy had swapped over the harness for the f22a6 auto and try to mate it with the f22a1 tranny.. dont know if they diff or wat not but the part of the harness that doesn't match are the plugs for the tranny... he said it was 3 plugs but only 2 holes or vise versa! but long story short they dont match.

So my question options i am asking you guys are ...

          A) Can i go get a F22a6 5spd Harness plug it in and BAM it starts?

          B) I can Maybe Hack up both harness(i have em both) and make it work?

thats all i can think of.. let me know guys i know someone has to know the answer you guys swap motors in ur sleep! k let me know thanx!

What transmission is on the car now?

If the transmission is auto: I would use the auto harness

If the transmission is manual: I would use the manual harness

There really isn't much difference between any of the obd1 harnesses and the differences that do exist can be changed/fixed quite easily.

I cannot think of any "transmission plugs" on the manual other then the speed sensor one. The two little connectors that go (I forgot where over there) and the starter stuff.

So the difference is most likely the auto control stuff hence the extra plug

without a picture I think that is the best I can do. Sorry

Yea that makes some sense.. yea i dont have any pics cuz i really dont know wat i would be takin pics of the car.. this is really my first CB7(even though my 4th owned) that i will be really be doing some wrenching and etc.. dont worry i wont be doing this alone.. got my boy who is a mechanic.. but he hasnt had time to swing by the house! But yea the tranny is a 5spd. So i guess i gotta go get a 5spd a6 harness and it should prob start??
