H22 Swap in Progress

I'd like to announce that I'm taking my journey to the darkside: VTEC . My 92 Ex has taken its toll on its headgasket and I'm not gunna put time and effort into fixing, so I'm just gunna H22a swap it in the next month or two. Now onto the swap, I'm purchasing the complete swap from Venus Auto in Sacramento for $1500. I plan on reusing everything off my accord except I'm gunna replace some things on the motor before I drop it in.

Things needed for swap/price list:

Complete OBD-1 H22a Swap(motor, tranny, ecu, and harness)- $1500 PURCHASED
H22a Timing belt- $33 PURCHASED
Water Pump- $62 PURCHASED
Luk Performance Clutch- $250 w/ lifetime PURCHASED
Tune-up- ??
Oil Change- $25
Tranny Fluid- $20
New Axels(if neccessary)- $120 PURCHASED
USDM OBD-1 P13 Ecu- LOOKING
USDM H23a1 Distributor/Coil- LOOKING

TOTAL: $1890(so far)

I'm pretty sure there are going to be other parts that I will have to get along my completion of this project. Please feel free to give me any input of things I might encounter during the project. Also if others can post other parts/prices I will need for this swap. Oh yeah I forgot to add, and if others would like to add in what I might need to pass smog. Thanks

well to tell you the truth ive been hearing from several hombois of mine that state reff shut down bcuz california cant fund it no more so B.A.R. dont really matter no more im going all out on my shyte

I was nervous b/c my reg renewal is due next month and I didn't know if I had to smog. The renewal came today and I just gotta pay fees, YES no smog until Nov '09 or Nov '10. I got a friend down the street from my house that will pretest to see what it runs and then i'll from there and if worse comes to worst my friend does illegal smog but overall it gunna be great.

yeah hot smog 4 me 2 but fuckit i can live with it i rather have my h22 than a f22 smog legal

Just sold my 2 JL's with amp, yah more money towards the swap. As it looks right now instead of buying the motor the end of Oct, I should be able to get it the end of this month!!

Do you have a jdm or usdm motor? If so how did you run you internal/external coil?

the motor is jdm the distributer is off a usdm h23 so i could keep it external coil. it was much easier because it pluged right in without modifying anything

Thats cool. I'm just gunna run with putting the fuse in for now(don't want to cut/splice) until I can buy the h23 dizzy and then I'll be good.

i didnt want to either plus i didnt have the jdm disturber. found the h23 one at the jy for 25 bucks.

Hey man good lookin out. i just sold everything i had that wasn't needed for my car besides my laptop to fund my swap....

so i know how ya feel. mine is due in a couple of weeks. i am right there when ordering the motor.

your total isn't bad either right now. I am @ 1500+ for mine and i'm using my F tranny. well good luck and keep this updated. i want to see what it's like for you.
