hi, im going to go to the yunkyard and buy my new engine. what sings or what can i look for that im buying a healthy engine, is there anything i can try to do or sum how that i can test it that is good? ok thanks guys

Check the spark plugs. You might be able to do a compression test but I don't know if it works when you turn the motor over by hand.-1991 Honda Accord LX H22a-

Leakdown compression test! If possible pop off the valve cover and check the cam(s) see if there is any sludge or any signs of unhealthy wear on any of the fast moving parts in the head. Try and crank it as well to make sure its not seized or anything.
Thats what I would do if I were searching for a motor in the JY.
