    Out f20a sohc in f20a dohc

    Need some help guys..

    I am going to be doing a F20a dohc eng swap on a f20a sohc car CB3..the thing is I will be only be pulling the sohc eng out putting in the dohc n reusing the old harness n ecu..from what i see there is 2 problems ..

    1. Iab - currently none
    2. what is beside the dist on the F20a dohc head, maybe its a knock sensor, it has 2 wires coming out of it.Can i bypass it?..has anyone seen it..coz its not on the f22B dohc head..

    N will there be any issue with the ecu?

    Any solutions guys?

            Jus curious, but y a f20a si, over an f22b

            I understand the f20's have a slightly higher redline, but there's no tq compared to the f22b.

            I'm stuck on these 2 motors.

              well, over here, it's roadtax. The F22b has a larger displacement, thus commands higher taxes. And since the F20a is under 2000cc, it is also eligible for subsidies.

                umm dude im not sure about those motors

                do you know anything about the coil?

                seems like yours is internal coil and the f20 dohc is external coil... (two wires from dist)

                pics mang pics!!

                as far as ecu i dont think so but having the right ecu will take advantages if there is different injector size. best bet is to run a chipped ecu and i have no idea which one would fit that engine possibly the LS integra ecu with a chip

                  One thing for sure, the DOHC has a higher redline compared to the SOHC.

                    yeah a b18b ecu may run it unchipped who knows maybe not like i said. but im pretty sure that the b18b (integra LS) ecu is the right one to chip for your motor.


                    if anything at least get the stock DOHC computer so youll be running right.

                      Yeah, my thoughts exactly.

                      he got himself (his brother, rather, or was it the other way round, im confused here) a 'floor engine' or just the block and head with IM and headers, no trans, no ECU.

                      It's cheaper than buying the whole halfcut.

                        Got the engine late evening 2day but didnt took any pics..dumb dumb..I will get some pics soon...
                        By the way, its a internal distr (no problem there)...the thingy that iam mentioning about is on the intake camshaft side (its attached in the same manner of the distr, just smaller n has 2 wires) which is different for as there is a plug on the f22b version..n iam thinking its not a knock sensor coz that should be on the block...i just need to know what it is..n has any seen it.???.

                          n 1 more things...u need to find PT2 ECU......or P72(without knock sensor)
