f20b smog?

i'm leaning towards doing a f20b swap but smog emissions are very strict here in cali. my question is how hard would it be to smog the f20b and what might i need to help it pass? thanks

this will be the f20b i'd pick up sounds good hopefully it is the 5spd version and not the automatic check it out, thanks

i'd love to do this swap but i don't wanna have to lean on going illegal smog b/c cops getting smarter on motors that don't belong in cars and then i end up having to go to ref

yeah thats true but as long as they dont pull you over bcuz your car looks "modifyed" you should be alright plus they cant make you pop your hood for no reason... if they pulled you over for something that has nothing to do with your car being "modifyed" u have the right to tell them no unless you have aftermarket guages all over the interrior or a 5" Tach or if your car is lower than 22" from the center of the headlight only then you are forced to pop your hood and na i dont think it will pass emission here in cali... my F22 on my other car (Lisa) was stock and didnt pass smog for some strange reason i dont think an obd2 F20B will either..... now if you do end up geting it and somehow make it pass?? then ill give you props what i suggest on doing is getting a OBD1 dizzy and using your stock harness and try to hook everything up as you would on a prelude and hope for the best.... u dont have to go to state refff just hit up the local smog shop and see if it passes or not

totally understand where your coming from, but in sac i've been puled over 3x within the last 7-8 months ist for exhaust which let to going to ref b/c illegal intake, and the other 2 for having no front plate and the last i got hit for being 21.5in and that was with stock tires 205/65/15 now i have itr's 195/55/15 way more dumped now.. as far as the swap i talkin to almostjdm about it and he is plugging me and earfull of how to things that will help if i go trhough with the swap but smog is mainly the onl;y thing i'm worried about due to the fact most hondas are having to smog for every reg renewal, but i'll see how thing goes

the fuckin cops out here are ridiculous, ive been pulled over twice by elk grove pd and they say my license plate light was out but it wasn't he was just being a dick and then 2 months later same cop pulls me over again for the same shit and when he finds out i was the same dude from before he said. "your all good, have a goodnight" he was a fuckin dick

my homebois uncle is a san jose pd officer and he told me that no front plate dont matter... they will pull you over if they feel like being dicks to modifyed cars... the front plate thing depends on the cop as for the lisence plate light thats a trick they play on people to check for license and proof of insurance... wat i would do is say something like, "Oh really officer?? i bearly changed them like 2 days ago... let me check.." get off the car and check and if the lisence plate lights are working properly then just be like, " which one?? i dont see no lights that are out??" the cop will most likly just let you go....

have you guys seen the ref cops? they are cops that drive around in trucks and stuff and they are licenced to know what is legal and what isnt and is 100% able to look under your hood.

depending on the smog ref, you can legalize that F20b.. just make the emissions the same as the h22a..... 800 bucks is pretty good, hopefully nothing is wrong with the motor since some shiet on craigslist is trash..

it is true that the parts are interchangeable between the f20b and h22a but i would go with the h bomb any day of the week more aftermarket support ftmfw!!!
