i just finish doing the 5spd conversion on my 91 lx. Everything went fine exept that the shifter is really hard to put in gear, specially 1st. I already did all of what i could find in the threads of this forum, check for shifter bolts tight, shifter cables connected right, disconnected cables to check how hard it was without them connected and it works perfect(soft and easy to move) i also moved the tranny levers and they are easy to move without the cables. i bleed the system twice just to make sure it had no air in it, but nothing works, its a 92 preludeh22 tranny. please help me.

It's just like bleeding brakes.

found something
while driving the car i notice that the only way that the gear will go in smoothly is when im slowing down an at stop light, while the car is still moving i try to put into first and after a couple of seconds holding a little bit of pressure to the shifter i will go in smoothly. what could the problem be?[SIZE=4] IMPACT

^^^I agree. I can only go with my experience in my 95 Civic. I had the 3rd gear synchro go bad, or start to go bad and that was exactly the same symptons. When you slow down enough it allows the synchro to do it's job and change the gear. It got to a point where I finally lost 3rd, 5th and finally 1st. After 1st gear lost I could only go 30mph and had the tranny changed. I guess 1,3 and 5 are on the same shaft. Not sure though.

mines is the same thing. when Im at a full stop. its sometimes hard to put it into 1st. I find that if the car rolls forward a bit it goes it just fine. also if I let go of the clutch & give it a tiny bit of gas it goes into 1st fine too.
