    rear engine H23 sensor unknown

Hey, anyone know what the round sensor directly under the intake manifold on the block is for on a H23a1? It has a 2 pin connection, its kind of like and above the oil sensor. I when to plug it in today and the electrical portion just fell off and I need to know the name for locate a replacement. Thanks.

what exactly does the knock sensor do?

and will the H23 run without it hooked up?

^^^ I dont think the accords F22 had one. so if it ran without one the H23 should be able to run without it too as long as you use a CB ECU. if you use the H23 ECU then I dont think it will & if it does I think itll throw out a code.

I know the F22 doesnt have one. But i just picked up an H23 today and thats why i was asking. I just wonder how hard it is to wire it up.

Its a phizo electric sensor that senses ping/knock from detonation and will retard advance timing accordingly.

With the H23 ECU and no sensor engine will run crappy

With F22 ECU engine will run crappy
              wat?

you might want to look into removing it with a chipped ecu and a tune.

honestly it would be worth it to just find the a plug and run the h23 ecu and run the wires to the ecu.....Would good is doin a swap if u dont get the full potential out of it anywayz

Plenty of H23 blocks laying around in junkyards. If not search on prelude power I am pretty sure someone is willing to sell you one with their partouts for cheap.

thanks guys, its actually for my prelude. Now I know what I'm looking for. Theres no h23 around here, I had to drive 2 hrs cross state for this replacement block alone.

is that h23 specific or can I grab one off of another motor like a b series?
