I hit VTEc!!!

Funny story... when I got my swap done on my first Accord (circa early 2002), I was so uneducated about it, I didn't even know what VTEC was. I drove the car home (about 50 miles on the highway) and then for another couple more days 'til I brought it up past 5k rpms. scared the shit out of me.

Fell in love with Honda's then.
This site has taught me a lot.

Calm down, lol, no you calm down . I have been working on this car for 14 months in my sparetime on the weekends with wife and 2 kids. Not too mention I broke my foot in the process so that was about 8 weeks of nothing. Nope sure won't calm down. This is fun now. hahahaha!!!

I here you on this one. Just bought an SRX and LOVE IT. The car before that was also a V6, so it takes a bit of getting use to letting a car rev that high. Sure I can rev the SRX but it's a V-6 and doesn't have to rev that high. I agree it was scary but oh so fun.

its amazing how exciting "vtec" is to some people. this thread sounds like a bunch of "ricers"......" i cant wait to hit vtec"......"ill be hitting vtec soon", "i cant sleep at night becuase of vtec".......no wonder muscle car guys laugh at us. vtec is cool and its great if you own a dohc vtec Honda, but its nothing to lose sleep over.

Someone doesn't like vtec. To tell you the truth, i've NEVER ridden in a vehicle with vtec. I'm swapping my engines this weekend and will own a car with vtec. Its the fruit of the adventure. I just can't wait.

My first time was test driving an S2000. For some reason, I was less than impressed. From the way everyone talks about it, you'd expect some huge, screaming, orgasmic rush. It kinda felt like they just floored it. Still fun, just not as much as expected.

my first time in my car was great. had the h22 in for about a week then one night i did the wireing... hit vtec in 1st and 2nd... tried to stop at the stop sign and the brake booster cam out of the intake mani.. good memories...

Sorry if we sound "like a bunch of ricers" but it is something to lose sleep over. I have various threads scattered on this board dating back to February 07. Problems and headaches with the swap. Please do not try and minimize my time spent on this project, the work I put into the project alone, and the excitement from knowing that I was able to do a DOHC VTEC swap. Afterall I bought the motor because of VTEC. So pardon the excitement.
