    H22 Wont Rev Over 3k

Well Im in a little confusing spot , I have the H22 swap and it ran fine on the stock p13 ecu, but I wanted to dyno tune it so I got a p28 chipped from D112crzy and it ran fine a little rich at idle but fine , Then I had my clutch and flywheel replaced and for some reason the car will not rev over 3k, so I took the ECU out and put in the stock P13 and it runs fine , Im confused what this could be usually the stock ECU wont like things and the chipped one is not looking for some stuff so it ok , I mean like EGR for instance EGR is not looked for on my chipped ECU but on my P13 it is looked for and I got a code , but run fine cause EGR is taken out ... I cannot for the life of me figre this out we have checked and even replaced the connectors on the fan switches ECT ..... any help would be GREATLY appreciated .... also I tried burning a totally different chip and put it into the P28 and still the same wont rev over 3k, but the p13 runs fine still , soo thats 2 completelly different chips and both do the same thing so I know its something on the car side but cannot figure it out ...... HELP .!!!!!

        BUMP BUMP

I found out that its called limp mode / safe mode

but what could be causing it ???

If stock P13 works but Chipped P28 doesnt work ???

to be honest im not really sure why that could be...but i would check the programming of the p28 just to see if your data log is right since it is a chipped ecu.

The map you have has Launch Control set at 3k, it takes a reading off of the vehicle speed sensor, Anything under 4 mph, it will set a 3k rev limit. Does your speedo work? I was running the same map.

hmm I dont think this is the case I used to totally different chips and didnt put in a launch control at all, you mean it will put one automatically if I burn it without one ??? that dont make sense so I doubt it , but I literally drove a month with the chippped P28 before this happen , the only change I made that made the ECU stop working was the clutch and flywheel swapped out for new, I couldnt figure out what happen so I went and burned a new chip, not a erase same one , A NEW ONE , and same problem wont rev over 3k , but plugged the P13 in and it runs fine ???? Im at a losss

Hmm, See i Thought something was fucked with the ecu, I had grounding issues with the Driver's side ground block on the shock tower. It contols the ground wire for the VSS i believe. I could set at red lights and bounce it off that rev limit, let out of the clutch and get rolling and it would rev out then. prior to me fixing the ground problem, i couldnt get it to rev over the 3k rev limit.

I'd look into that P28 ECU.

You mean the ECU itself , and not the chips ive been putting onto it?

was going to say it sounds like limp mode, but you beat me to it. I dont do f/h series too much so im not much help. What year is the motor? (are you running an OBDI ecu => OBDII motor, OBDII=>OBDII, OBDI=>OBDI?)

If its all OBDI can't you do the service connector check?

there should be 3 plugs attached (for h22 i think)

                            2 blue
                            1 yellow

                            1 blue has 3 holes (?)
                            2 blue has 2 holes (?)
and the yellow has 2 holes.

plug a paperclip into the BLUE PLUG with 3 holes and see if there is a check engine light code...

                              not my car/pic btw^^

do you have a low rpm launch setup? if you do I'd say check the VSS and VSS connections. Maybe the ecu checks the VSS differently and thinks the car isn't moving, or has entered the car into a limp mode. Other than that I can't help too much. Good luck.. i hate wiring on cars

                              just thought of something...
what if you stay under 3k shift up to 4th/5th and down shift into 2nd?
do you just get no power/engine cut out?
