Widest Tire on Stock 15 (15s)

I looked but didn't find a definitive answer. What is the widest tire that will work with a stock 15 and are there any suggested sizes? Thanks.

ha, i was just wondering the same exact thing the other day. i mean, i've seen 245s on 15s before -

i'm pretty sure you can fit some 215's or 225's on there... but you might get some rubbing.

i'm wanting an answer for this myself though, lol

Well, I'm not really wanting to go super wide, but I want a little more grip for the added HP of the H22 over stock. A little more grip would be nice. Thanks.

        yeah..

in that case, i'd reccomend a 205/60... that's what i was gonna go with.

i thought you were asking about the widest POSSIBLE size tire for them.

others might have a different opinion though... i'm still looking into this myself - for my stock oems.

A 205/60 would be a little taller sidewall than stock right? Is a 55 or 50 better to keep the sidewall height down?

yeah go with 205/55 15 tires. 205/60 makes the car feel like it's hualing a good 500 extra lbs.

if you're still riding on stock 15x5.5 rims, i don't think they can handle more than 205 wide tires. wheels themselves are too narrow and would pinch the sidewalls in too much.

Okay, I went with 205/50 so hopefully that will fit fine. I went with just a little shorter sidewall.

                      Which tires did you get?

205's will JUST fit on to 5.5 inch wheels.

i know a guy that had 205/50's azeni's on his stock 15's. it was really really hard to get the tires on and off the wheels.

I went cheap since I'm planning on going with a 16" inch wheel sometime in the next year. But I got the Kumho Ecsta 711. I had the 712 on my 2001 accord and liked them so I figured I would try the 711s.

might as well just go for some 17" rims...

Hey man, unsprung weight is the worst. My 90 is on a strict diet. No sound deadening. Nothing behind the front seats but metal. No power steering. No A/C. Low unsprung weight is just another part of it's weight loss program.
