    Protect Wheels From Theft?

Yes I know that if someone wants to take your wheels that can get them given they have ENOUGH TIME. Is there lugs that actually slow people down? I know there are lock removal kits but will something like these work?

    http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/product...eel_bolts.html

I'm going to parking my car on a driveway with a sidewalk in front of it and there is a high school pretty near me with kids passing everyday in front my house.

Is there good alarm's that will pick this stuff up? (Even if I got a backup battery hidden somewhere)

i don't know how those bolts would work with your studs... try locking lug nuts... if you get an alarm get a proximity and/ or tilt sensor..

some security companies have sensors that detect vertical motion. So if the distance between the sensor and the ground increases (like when someone jacks your car up to remove your wheels) the alarm will sound. Back up batteries are a great idea for security systems and so are additional sirens. Try having one siren mounted in a not-so-hidden location and another in a hidden location.

I don't think someone will steal your rims while in your drive way I mean locks on your lugs will help my boy has all 4 lugs in each rim with lock, and another good security for your car would be kill switches and a wheel boot I ordered one a couple days ago, a good alarm like 3 kill switches and a wheel boot it'll be pretty hard to steal a car.

I wanted to get extended lugs and open ended lugnuts with a lock, but would an alarm system as you mentioned above be a better idea for security?

I don't think you gotta do all that I mean locks will be good and a good alarm, like my boy does alarms and he hides all the wires so they won't be cut a like I said before I wheel boot will be great too.

Yeah there are even kits for removing locking nuts!
So alarm's would be the best way, I heard Compustar and Viper are good what models?

If I put a bunch of sensors, 1 for each wheel area etc and 2 or so glass break monitors would it just go off all the time? I could also mount multiple sirens around.

How would I wire all of this up to a battery? The connections of the sirens look special or something. :S

Unless the thieves are proffesional nascar guys that change the tires and they take your rims in 6 seconds then I would be worried.

I would just use a good set of wheel locks and a Quality car alarm and call it a day!

I meant to say extended studs, and reason being is to try and buy the rims of my buddy but his lug only catches about 2-3 turns and that's it. But I do like the idea of getting an alarm like that, and no my rims aren't all that but I'd hate to wake up to no wheels

You don't have to do it in 6 seconds flat man. There's somebody I know here that takes his time, and aas long as it's late at night and he makes lil to no noise.. let's just say he's got a collection

                              Worry less about your wheels.

-Get wheel locks (gorilla makes decent budget-friendly locks, but there are much better to be had. Avoid Autozone locks).
-Get an alarm with a proximity sensor and turn the sensitivity up to cover the area around your wheels/doors. Make sure you do a stealth-installation. Don't just mount the alarm under your dash, every theif in the world looks there first.
-Get 2-3 sirens for said alarm. You'll mount the included siren under the hood, as most people do. Get 1-2 Piezo sirens and hide them well, but make sure they'll be heard from outisde.
-Get a backup battery for your alarm. They're cheap, so why not?

Aside from that, ther'es not much else you can do.. I guess you could invest in some black vinyl wheel covers, but it's a hassle to put them on every night, and that might attract more attention because people will be curious what's under them..
