General Exclaim UHP Vs BFG G-Force Sport

I'm looking for your experience with these tires. I am looking at buying a set, in 205/55/R15. Fat tires = Fat handling. lol

If you have had a set, tell me about it. Handling, real world life expectantly, warranty issues/problems, etc, etc. Tell me a story, if you want too. haha

I would get the BFGs over the Generals.

I have a set of General's on the 'lude and I love em. Couldn't beat em for the price.

I have General Exclaim UHP 205/45/16's on our '94 Impreza and they're nice and sticky. They grip very well when cornering and do great in wet weather.

I haven't had them long enough to know how fast the tread wears, but reviews lead me to believe I could get up to 40k miles out of them on a daily driver, even for spirited driving. Of course, it all depends on how hard you push the tires, as with any tires.

I don't have experience with the other tires, but I'd definitely buy the UHP's again.

              EDIT:

The sidewalls look and feel pretty stiff to me.

The sidewalls on the BFG's look much more stiff. I'm looking into new tires as well and so far the BFG's seem pretty damn promising as far as bang for buck goes.

I say you buy yourself both sets and let me know which is best.

BFGs for sure. They've been around for years. I've got them on my 17s right now and they're almost worn but I've put on 22K miles on them so far. Still pretty sticky even with 4/32nds left. Plus even after all those miles....no sign of dry rotting or cracking anywhere on the tires. They're about 2 yrs old, but I live in AZ, and tires even after 1 yr here dry rot since its so dry.

I definitely am going to go with the BFG's, they are a proven and well designed tire. The generals are just cheap tires, but they seem promising.

You can't tell how stiff the sidewall is just by looking at it.

Rule of thumb, twin ply sidewalls are stiffer than single ply. Most tyres have single ply sidewalls because it gives a soft ride and costs less to make (just less parts to assemble into the casing, and the sidewall plies go from bead to bead so stiffen the tread as well). The BFG g-Force Sport has a twin ply sidewall. The number of sidewall plies is marked on the sidewalls of all tyres I've ever looked at (and the number is nearly always in the singular...). I won't now buy tyres with a single ply sidewall, never had such a tyre that performed well.

                        mak,
off topic but, IMO your tower brace is not worth putting back on the car. It's a prime example of a brace where the brackets are way too flimsy and thus won't allow the bar to do it's job. Note how thin the metal in the entire bracket is, but particularly the vertical sections...

Tower braces need to be VERY rigid in order to work properly.
                        Regards from Oz,
                        John.

I provided the pictures to show that I own the tires, it had nothing to do with the sidewalls.

I also said that the tires feel like they have pretty stiff sidewalls. This is my first hand experience with the General Exclaim UHP.

I never took my tower brace off of my car, it's been in there for almost four years.

The tower brace in the picture came from a local CB7tuner member who included it with a purchase I made from him awhile back. I have no intention of using it on my car.

I'm sure he was referring to me when he mentioned the side walls.

mak, you said; "The sidewalls look and feel pretty stiff to me." Whatever, I wasn't having a go at you, and d112crzy then followed saying a similar thing, so I just wanted to clear that up.
