    17s - tire size recs? rubbing issues / problems w a drop?

Hey guys and girls, this is my first post here. I'm looking forward to hearing from alot of you!! I'm interested in the size tire you run on your car. (and your opinion) My 92 EX wagon has GC coilovers and KYB adjustables, still on factory EX wheels. I've been shopping for 17's and had decided to go with 215/45/17. I see alot-most of the members rides have 215/40/17. Is there a big difference in these two,do the 40's look wider? All opinions are welcome. A few weeks back there was a tire size comparison chart (plus1 plus2) posted here,if anyone has that anymore I'd like to see it again. (I might even go with 18's ) Thanks

The offset would at least be +40,anything else would not look right (to me) I'm after a nice clean look! If I ever get my digital camera fixed I'd like to post a picture.

So kingsblend, are your beefy tires 205's or 215's? Are you happy with what you got? Also how wide are your wheels? and fizzbob7...I know you got the newer accord stock wheels but I didn't know you could fit 205's on them, I thought you needed a wider rim than 5 1/2 inches which I think is what your wheels are if I'm not mistaken. I was wonderin because I am wanted 6 or 6 1/2 wide wheels so I can get some 205's or bigger. Do you guys only recommend 205 with 45 profile? Is 215 too big? And fizzbob7 since you say you have 205's I will definetly get those instead of looking for the 6 inch wide steelies. Or which wheels would you want? Also what is the best profile for the 205's, 55?45?

I'm not too sure what the offset of the wheel is. The 215's I have never rubbed before, and I have my pretty low with the 17's on. The tire is kind of close to the fender, but not so close that it is going to rub. I actually want to get 225's because I am in love with wide tires.

not necessarily; I have 18" VOLKS on 225's. They don't tub out. It all depends on your rim offset.

lol... you ended up getting the same set up I have. I'm pretty happy with the 205/55/15 kumhos. Best bang for the buck; those potenzas were way too expensive.

Well i got Motegi MR7's they are 17x7 and the tires i got are 215/45/17 and my wheels stick out of my fender by about 1/4 inch, take a look at my webpage and see what you guys think, i wanna lower the son of a bitch i got springs sittin in my garage but im scared of crushin my fenders and then i would have to fix that so the next tires im getting are gonna be 205 not 215, and the rims are gonna be chrome
