    225/40/18

I've seen a couple of people on here run this size on their lowered cb7. I'm not lowered, and probably won't be for awhile.. and I want to run them on my new wheels when they get here.

The offset on the wheels is probably between 38mm - 42mm. The current owner says they fit like any other wheel on the cb7, and the correct offset for the cb7 is 42mm.

    You guys think they'll rub?

I already ordered the tires, they'll be at the shop next week.. I only have the chance to swap them out BEFORE they install them.

If they rub, I could just get wheel spacers, right? Since the only thing they'd rub on is the spindle mount (the big arm that holds the wheel spindle/hub).. ?

Advice is needed.. I really want to go with this size, because of the thick sidewall and the price, but I'll consider other options if need be.

If it helps, I compared the 225/35/18 (recommended for the cb7) side by side with the 225/40/18 and there is virtually no difference in overall diameter, the 40 series is only a hair taller.

    TIA,

    -mak

205-55-16 (my current tire size) vs 225-40-18

.... the rear lip of what?

The tires on my car are .2" smaller than the 225/40/18.. but the offset on my new wheels might be closer to the hub than my current wheels.. that's what I'm worried about.

Worst case scenario, I get wheel spacers?

      More opinions please
