wont having bigger brakes in the front cause an unbalance in braking?

will it be a problem if the front brakes are super good, and the rear ones are just stock drums?

not really...the rear brakes don't really help stop the car, they are only there to make sure the rear is lined up in a straight line when you stop.

for example, trying to brake using the hand brake won't do that much in comparison to the front brakes.

I have upgraded my front brakes to 94 Acura Vigor ones and the car stops really well, there is no instability.

now if the rear brakes are too strong, then you will have issues; in this case the rear brakes will lock up and cause the car to spin out.

      oh..
cause i always noticed that BMW's have huge brakes on the front and the back.
compared to hondas and acuras with the big discs in the front and little ones in the back.

yeah I mean it could affect it under a few circumstances...but when you think about it will really come down to how much grip your tires have front/rear

im pretty sure BMW does it for asthetic reasons.

If they were so important, Honda woulda put them on when the first came out with disc.

Disc size is only 1 tiny part of the larger brake equation. You have to include caliper size, piston size, brake pads, tires, brake balance, too many other variables, that trying to figure out braking performance by looking at them become moot.
