    OEM Brake Upgrade: Version 2.0

    Well here goes:

I started this new idea that i would complete a modification to my car before I started a new one. So i decided to try and complete my brake upgrade since its already underway.

In 2005 I did the five lug swap and installed S2K rotors and calipers. Since then I was contemplating putting Spoon calipers on the setup but I really didnt want to spend $1500 on the setup. But I was looking around and the Acura TL Brembo calipers are relatively inexpensive. After a little research I bought a set along with some of the parts needed to install them.

I havent installed them yet, b/c i need a larger wheel spacer since i kinda like my wheels and dont want to buy new ones. The calipers fit but the provisions for the mounting bolts in the knuckle will have to be enlarged since the TL bolts are 19mm and my car is 17mm. I will update this as I progress into the project.

    Old Setup:

    Test Fitment:

I have a spacer in place (no wheel studs) here to test the fitment, but I will have to get a larger spacer since this set was a couple mils shy of clearing the caliper.

Once this is finished I can finally get my car painted. I think.

You've probably got the only set of calipers like those that is going to show up for sale. Good job on the swap though.
My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!

wicked setup....so the TL has the same caliper orientation as the CB, as per the location of the bleeder valve?...sweet

yeah the bleeders are in the correct position. i was going to finish it this week, but my internship is ending this week and i have been swamped with that, but i will have time to do it after that.

The DC5/EP3 Type-R calipers are the same basic setup as these and you dont have to change brake lines since it uses a banjo fitting... of course you'd probably have to sell a kidney to get a set since they are JDM/EDM Type-R parts. The TL calipers parts are only $645-ish brand new, minus pins, bolts, lines and pads.

            S2k Rotors-$130 (2005)
            Odyssey Knuckles-$75 (2005)
            TL Calipers/new pads-$400
            Lines, bolts, etc...-$95
            HR Spacer-$120

            -ttl:$820
